Hey ladies! I’m just starting to plan a wedding in Nashville for May 2010. I’m interested to see what reception venues you’ve heard of or used yourself. We’re looking for somewhere outdoors, preferably that we can tent. I love how tents have chandeliers or fancy fabric lining now; it’s like you can create the venue of your dreams!
There’s never been a bee from that area, and I’m too far out to do it (time). Hopefully there’s some of you out there!

Hi! I’m in Nashville too. There’s a ton of different venues here. How many guests are you planning on? Are you looking for a place to have both your ceremony and reception? What kind of look are you going for (an older mansion, farm, etc.)? What’s your budget?
Some places off the top of my head that you can check into – Belle Meade Plantation, The Hermitage, CJ’s Off the Square, Carnton Plantation, Dyer Observatory, Cheekwood.
Hopefully this helps a bit!

Thanks for responding! I realized after posting that I should’ve written that I’m not from Nashville (I’m from DC), I’ve actually only visited once! My Fiance just got a job there.
Our budget was going to be around $50,000, but that’s when we were planning on having it in DC. I noticed that prices were much lower in Nashville, so we’ll most likely readjust our budget. We’d like to have our ceremony in a church (preferably something with a steeple, non-Catholic) and the reception somewhere else. It’d be great if the outdoor location wasn’t too far outside of town so transportation logistics wouldn’t be too difficult.
I’ll be in Nashville for the summer, so I’ll definitely have to check out those locations in person. Thanks for the advice!

I currently live in Houston but am getting married just south of Nashville in Franklin, and my Fiance and I are probably going to be moving to Nashville as well.
I’m not getting married outside, but the ceremony is at St. Paul’s Episcopal and our reception venue is Jamison Hall in the Factory at Franklin.
There are plenty of places, especially with all of the plantations and such, so I’m sure you won’t have any trouble finding a place. You just might have trouble deciding on one!
If you have any other questions, let me know.

For your ceremony, check out Wightman Chapel at the Scarritt-Bennett Center. It’s a pretty popular wedding location, and it is gorgeous. It’s not a real church, per se, but the churches around here (at least the pretty ones) have so many restrictions, it’s insane. There are a few that are somewhat reasonable, they can just be hard to find.
Of the reception places I posted earlier, Belle Meade Plantation and Cheekwood would be the closest to it. They are all in the south-west part of town. Carnton Plantation and CJ’s are located in Franklin, south of Nashville, and the Hermitage is located in the far east part of town.
Riverwood Mansion might be another one to check into.
