There are a ton of venue options around here. How many people are you expecting and what kind of look are you going for (rustic, urban, ballroom, etc.)?

About 200-250. I really am not picky on the type of venue as long as its got some kind of character.

I am having my reception at Marathon Village. LOTS OF CHARACTER! However, it doesn't have stairs and I'm not sure if it can accommadate 250 ppl. The Hermitage Hotel is very nice and so is Union Station. Cantabury Room (I think that's the name of the place) has a lots of Character on a larger scale and you can bring in your own cater (which is always a perk)

I'm getting married at the Jane Elliott Women's Building at TSU.  I know sounds strange but it was perfect and the price was GREAT!  Most Universities rent spaces for large events.  I also attended TSU for Grad School so there was a personal tie to the University, but I would have probably done it even if I hadn't gone there.  The room is beautiful when draped and the cost allowed me to stay in my budget.

I think the main question is what is your budget and what you would rather spend your money on, the venue or the actual reception, the food..the decor.  Here is a list of places I looked at:

    The Mill @ Lebanon

    The Factory @ Franklin

    State Parks

    Metro Parks

    Durego - Brentwood

    Cumberland Science Museum

    Houston Station

    Union Station

    Noah Liff Opera Center

    Music City Hall of Fame

    Legacy Farms

    Vanderbilt University

    Belmont University

    Lipscomb University

    Wineries
