Overnights are particularly heavy with spam, we try our best to keep them to a minimum and the mod team deletes them as soon as they’re able. Thanks for flagging them. This is a huge help.

@tksjewelry:  You actually can’t flag something as spam because that isn’t enough characters.  There should be a button or something.

@Polygon:  I usually write ” spam post please delete”  but I’ll make sure to mention it to the mod team. Maybe that’s something they can have tech look into.

@tksjewelry:  It seems like it should be more automated, since that is probably the number 1 most useful function of the flag button.

Hey all! Thanks for the note! Unfortunately, we get hit by spammers every single night in the AM hours. The spam filter grabs a lot of it, but as you all have seen, some things make it to the boards, too. Right now, the best way to let us know is to keep flagging. I know that the character limit is frustrating (it trips me up sometimes, too!). The flagging function and character limit are all things that are tech related, so we can pass the suggestion along.

In addition to @tksjewelry‘s suggestion, a lot of other people also just write “this is spam” to meet the character minimum.

Either way, don’t fret about spam too much! Like I said, it’s nightly occurence, so we’re pretty accustomed to doing a sweep of it on a daily basis. 🙂 Hope this helps!

@Supersleuth:  Out of curiosity, why would these s-p-a-m adverts be dangerous to pregnant women?

@MrsNewDay:  she was talking about a specific spam ad that was pushing an herbal product on pregnant women under the pregnancy board.  It’s been deleted now.
