What about little seedling favors? There are many websites that carry these.

What about little bottles of maple syrup? Syrup comes from trees, and trees are rustic :)
We did honey. Some people do little flower pots with a seedling or just seeds. Or mix together your own spices for people.
I like the maple syrup idea.
I can't remember who it is, but someone on here is doing heartshaped bird seed. It's adorable and I wish this is what we were using as favors. Here's the link (etsy) and a photo.

I like the candy apples idea! I don't think they're too Halloweeny at all. The bakery where I work makes really nice ones covered in coconut, or nuts, or crumb topping, which look fallish and nice. Or even homemade popcorn balls!
I love the idea of using plants as centerpieces and they double as gifts.
Also, love the idea of these insperational rocks.
Oh and one more... these old cans, covered in moss and string and then a planted bulb inside... so cute

you can make your programs/fans out of handmade paper and when you make the paper, put seeds in it. Then guests can take them home and plant them

Help! We're getting married in September and want to go with an outdoorsy-woodsy-rustic theme...Not like a hoe-down though. Was thinking about doing candy apples, but they remiond me of Halloween. Does anyone have any ideas for favors?
