anchoredtogether:  You could get a ring of styrofoam and make it look like a life ring.

you don’t need the wording. Use white cording and duct (duck) tape in the color of your choice.

How high is the sailboat? Normally centerpieces should be less than 14″ high so they don’t disturb sight lines.

If you don’t need to add a lot of height, you could use a couple of boat cleats as a stand. get them at any marine supply store.

Or, you could use nautical books or just books covered in nautical paper. You could make the covers yourself.

anchoredtogether:  You could do something like this. All of these things can usually be found at a Dollar Tree and it would go perfect with your theme and candles are always nice.

Just make the base a little taller and paint it white like it is.  You could add rope or nautical ribbon.  Keep it simple.  Love your ideas so far!  Good luck.
