I saw a video that had the groom and groomsman in navy blazers with khaki pants. Just go to yahoo.com and search for a video titled "Worst Best Man Ever" and try not to laugh.
I'm doing it! We picked up navy blazers and khaki pants on a Buy 1 get two free sale at Jos. A. Banks and the cost came out to the same as the girls are spending on their dress. I love the look, although it can definitely say "prep school" depending on the tie you choose :)

I love this look, and since one of our wedding colors is navy, Im thinking of doing this instead of tuxedos for the groomsmen (FH might go with an all-navy suit, we'll see).
Is there anyone out there who's done this? How did you work it with the groomsmen? I've heard of brides just asking the groomsmen to wear a navy blazer they already have, but I'm worried that will look too mismatched. Are they available to rent? I really don't want to ask people to buy something they don't want, especially when it could cost a lot. How did you handle it?
