Just don't do red and white, or you'll look like an american flag exploded all over your wedding! hehe. Crisp white looks really good against navy. And yellow has a very nautical look. Lime green looks awesome too! Good luck!

My bridesmaid dresses were navy blue.  They wore a kind of taupish color silk dupioni sash and had pale earth tone flowers.  The groomsmen wore lighter blue paisley vests and bluish boutaniers.

My flowergirls wore white silk dupioni dresses with a navy blue sash and underlay.  They had wood baskets had blue satin and some green moss.  The ringbearer "pillows" were made from a grapevine wreath with blue satin and green moss and a little birdsnest on top with some blueish/green irradescent ribbon for the rings.

And then to tie it in to me I put a blue butterfly in my bouquet.

Here's some pics if it helps you:

mscornfused, I'm using navy for my wedding next month. The bridesmaids will be in navy dresses with ivory sashes, and my accent colors are light blue and champagne with a little bit of chocolate brown. I know, it sounds weird. But I did a post on the color scheme here:

or you could go with an alternate color of blue to contrast the navy and then bring in an accent color...

Navy Blue, light blue and champagne would be really pretty and the champagne would keep it from looking too nautical

Pink and navy are a great combination. I believe I saw a wedding on brides.com with pink and navy and it was too cute.

I am using Navy Blue, a pale warm blue, and champange/ gold accents for an Oct 25, wedding in New York.

I didn't know I had such good taste until I read from you fine ladies that you all thought those were good colors too!

I think the light blue and champagne are warm colors for fall. The bridal party's BM will be in ivory lace tops with dark navy (midnight) skirts. The guys are in navy blazers with slate grey pants.

The champagne will come in at the reception with candleabras and so on. Ivory flowers too!

The beautiful thing about navy is that it is a neutral, so it goes with a ton of other colors.  What kind of mood do you want?  Complimentary colors or other neutrals will likely give you a more classic and/or refined look, while bright contrasting colors will have more "pop."  If you like light green, a lime color would look really nice.  So does just about any shade of pink (as long as it isn't too dark or too purple).

I was originally planning on having my main colors be navy and white, with some other paler blues mixed in, but now I want to incorporate more green (like a kelly green).  My bridesmaids will all be in different navy or navy/white dresses that they chose themselves, and since it is a classic color, they can get some re-use out of them.

i'm doing navy blue too! with steel blue and silver accents and yellow flowers. :)

i originally wanted red/orange/peach flowers, because i loved the way they look up against navy BM dresses, but i thought it would look too dark on the table for an afternoon may wedding.

A friend of mine had her bridesmaids wear navy blue, and their flowers were whites and pretty peachy orange hues.  It was such a pretty, fresh color combination!

I could see a Navy-Pink-Gold-Creme decor. You could have the men in Navy, gold, creme and the women in Navy, Pink and Creme...I think gold accents go very nicely with Navy and it is a great color for almost everyone.
