    Hello trusty hive-

I am DIY'ing our simple wedding invitations - navy blue and deep pink writing on crisp white cardstock, with a navy blue card stock back that will give it a 1/4" trim.

I want to make some sort of belly band to wrap around everything.  I thought of a navy blue and deep pink patterned paper or ribbon & am coming up empty handed.  I feel like I've googled every combination of that & still not finding anything...sometimes it takes just asking someone else if they know!

I've checked Paper Source's website & they don't have anything.  Haven't gone to the store yet, but that is my next move.  Also will try scrapbooking stores for paper.

    Thanks!

Have you looked at all the major paper sites online? Paper mojo comes to mind but I know there are others....just search the bee and they should come up.

and M&J Trimmings in has a great selection if you want ribbon. www.mjtrim.com

    Good luck!

I'm also using navy blue with a deep raspberry pink.  I really liked Paper Source's night blue color for navy, but I agree they don't have anything that is the right pink. We've decided to use Navy and ivory/champagne for our main colors and pink as just an accent for flowers and such.  Maybe you could use pink as the font instead of having it be your main color? I ended up settling on a professional for my paper products because it seems like they had a better selection.  If you need any other help, feel free to message me.

Yes, I have scoured Paper Mojo and any other sites that I could find.  I am ready to pull my hair out!

Wolff2Be - the deep pink is our accent color.  Navy and white are the main colors, but I was just hoping to find a funky patterned paper to wrap around the invites, like 3 inches in width or something like that.  Yes, Paper Source Night is great :) but no pinks!

pink and navy were also my colors and i had a tough time with paper.  i agree that "night" from paper source is the best navy.  i ended up using "luxe blush" as my pink and pared it with some hot pink splashes here and there (font, trim, etc).  for my invites, i also couldn't find anything to 'wrap' my invite in so i ended up making navy blue vellum envelopes which worked out really well.  and the blue vellum package went into a pink envelope for mailing.  hope this helps.

I found this cardstock on Blue Dot Paper Shop's website.  I really like this color: http://bluedotpapershop.com/item.php?itemid=330&papertypeid=3&theswitch=2  Its $18.99 for a pack of 50 pages.  They also sell samples individually.  There are a lot of color choices, patterns, and paper styles on this site if you're looking for something different than cardstock.

I was just thinking that maybe pink vellum would look nice, you could print your names/monogram/date or something on the front and then create a tab fold or something to keep it closed... I'll see if I can find a picture or instructions of what I'm thinking.  I'm sure Martha has something like it!  In case anyone wants to keep looking for supplies, I found another website with tons of paper choices (even cheaper than the last one). http://www.paperandmore.com/index.html

I chose a ribbon belly band, but as I also couldn't find a combo of the correct colors, I just started with a thicker band of navy and then, on top of that, wrapped a thinner band of kelly green. It turned out really well.
