I could see a navy on navy if the guys wore white and pink with the navy suits and the navy was really dark.
I like the idea of black suit with navy vest and pie tie too.
(p.s. your inspiration board is really classy!)
@latte: Do you think navy suits and navy dresses would be too much? I mean I don't know why it would be, considering that my last plan was to have them all in black!
Only thing is, I really don't think FI will be down with wearing anything other than black..... aldksfjalsdkjfkljads HAHA
How about Navy suits with bridesmaid who are in navy and blush colored dresses? I like the idea of a two colored dress. Here is the link to one dress that can be customized: http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/2730/
There are several on this website and I am sure you can find other styles by different designers.
I think gray suits with navy accents would be nice for the guys.
I agree with Tulip! My BM's are wearing navy, and I am trying to convince Mr. P to go with a gray suit. I think that black and navy is also a very classic combination.
Ahhhh gray! How did I look over gray! That could work.....going to look for some pics now. Thanks!!!
I'm doing navy BM dresses, and the men will be in kilts! Black jackets, black shoes and socks, and tartans that are primarily navy and dark green. It's going to be a lot of different colors, but I think it will be a lot of fun!
We're doing navy suits + navy bridesmaid dresses. You could also do grey suits - perhaps with navy ties?
My BMs wore Navy and the guys wore black tuxedos (with black vests/tie) - it looked great. Charcoal could look good as well
FI was in a wedding where the bridesmaids were in navy and the men were in black tuxes and it looked just gorgeous. It might be hard to match the navy's in the dresses to the navy in the suits.
My BMs are wearing gorgeous navy dresses, and it was like my third color choice to go with. At first I really did not like the idea of black suit and navy blue tie/vest/etc. However, after looking at MANY pictures, I absolutely LOVE it and it is just SO incredibly classic! My FI is wearing either a crisp white or silver tie to set himself apart from the groomsmen, who are wearing the matching navy blue ties. But if you absolutely don't want a black suit, I would definitely suggest a gray suit.
As for the flowers, my girls will be carrying soft pink peonies! Those two colors are also very classic and elegant! Looks like we're on the same page!
See, I actually really like navy and black together, so the GM are wearing traditional black tuxes with navy vests.
lol. That is exactly what my wedding colors are. And the EXACT inspiration board I used! lol. I think black and blue and classic: As long as they look intentional
ok here are two...not so good, didnt make the cut, but you can see the combo lol. I PMmed you the link to all my photos
We are having the bridesmaids in formal navy dresses and using gray cutaway tuxes with the pinstripe pants, since we are doing a daytime wedding. I think it looks classic and gorgeous. I would definitely go with gray if you don't like the black.
LOL missyap! That inspiration board is gorgeous, isn't it?! As soon as I saw that one, I was like ok...have to have that.
I think a grey suit would look lovely with the navy dresses and pinky flowers :)
My girls also wore navy and the guys wore tuxes - black vests, black ties. It looked so classy and chic. I'd do it all over again.
We had a similar situation...our BMs wore navy dresses and my hubby went back and forth on suits for the guys. He first selected black and purchased a gorgeous Hugo Boss only to decide to go with navy. He had the guys wear a navy suit they already had. We would have loved to have selected gray but unless we requested that each GM buy the same suit (which he didn't want to do, didn't want the GM spending money on another suit) there was no way to ensure color consistency.
I thought the navy and black could look like a big bruise...then I was worried that navy on the girls and guys would be too blue but with the ties and flowers that didn't end up being the case.
I'm doing navy dresses with black suits (with navy ties and vests) and everything thus far has looked great (i'll post pics soon). I think it might be cute to do the gals in navy and give the guys a pale pink tie/pocket square. it'll relieve the black and give the whole look a more playful touch.
I am having the same problem. I was really worried about the black and navy but after seeing these pictures I think we may just go for it!
I don't have navy BM dresses, but we are putting our guys in charcoal gray suits...its softer than black, but still looks very very sharp!
I was in a wedding as a BM, and wore a floor length navy gown. The gents wore block military suits, and the pictures looked lovely! Although one posters suggestion of grey is also a great idea and what I would have originally suggested. But I just wanted to let you know black looks good too, especially if your wedding is more formal.
Good luck!

OK, so I've decided to change our colors for like the 50th time now. I'm thinking navy blue BM dresses and blush pink flowers. I've looked up pics of navy and blush weddings and fallen in love!!!
The only color combos I'm seeing online for the guys are the navy blazers with khaki pants, which is not our style at all. And the black suits with the navy dresses, I'm not a fan of either. I thought about putting the guys in blue suits and girls in pink dresses, but I really don't want THAT much pink. And I think all the girls would look better in blue.
Any other suggestions for the guys??
