I’m a consistent reader, but rarely post. I’ve posted previously about my dress concerns as a relatively older (39, first time) bride, and plus sized. (FWIW, by plus size is recent in the last few years, and I’m more insecure than I once was, which is lending itself to some insecurities I didn’t have in the past).
As I said, I’ve discussed my dress before, but to assist with the “look” idea, here it is again (me in the actual dress—it will need alteration to take it back to the A-Line fit it should be; in this photo, it appears more Grecian)
Obviously, it’s a very simple dress, which is perfect for me. Please note that I intend to alter the halter to an “X” back, with additional detail in the back straps, with will minimize the neckline of the dress itself.
So the question is that now, I’m looking for collective opinions of the right statement necklace. My thought is that a “delicate” looking necklace would be odd on my overall size and dress, and a more significant statement necklace would bring more attention to the upper part of the body, and make it more “balanced”, if you will.
I’ve identified a few that I feel work with the “belt” (it’s built in) of the dress, but look to the more stylish Bees for opinions. In addition to the actual poll, feel free to offer other ideas/substitutes that you may have found in your own searches, etc.
* I only have web photos to go by, so some have just the necklace, and some have (what I feel) the more helpful model photos, so I’ve tried to screen cap the best of each option.
I realize they are all very similar, but hope that the more fashionable Bees have an eye for things I may not see. Price is a small issue, but not the deciding factor.
Also, if the necklaces and the dress just don’t seem to be the right fit, feel free to tell me so….and, if you have another suggestion, I’m open. I will say that a strong pearl-based look is not my favorite, though some pearls in the necklace are ok.
