If your can find a bib necklace (something that sits higher on the décolletage) that complements the beading, that may. Look nice, but otherwise I’d probably skip it. You don’t want something competing for focus.

I have a sweetheart neckline but no beading or lace at the top (or anywhere on the dress, actually). This is a picture of all my wedding day jewellery together. I haven’t tried it with my dress yet but I’m hoping the V shape of the necklace will accentuate the sweetheart!

For you though, since you have beading I would stick to no necklace or a very simple small one.  Maybe some nice earrings would look good?

@Manda613:  I’m wearing a pretty sustantial crystal necklace with my sweetheart neckline.  You can kind of see it in this photo:

I’m wearing my hair covering my ears so I couldn’t do earrings and I wanted some special jewelry.  If the place you’re doing alterations has jewelry there you can always try some different things on and see what you like best.

I also have a sweetheart neck dress and am thinking something like this:

I really want to wear big earrings, and I don’t want to feel too busy with too many jewels, so I am going to wear a super simple pendant on a really thin chain.

I think a lot depends on how much beading your dress has and how close to the neckline it is, what kind of earrings you want to wear, and how you want to do your hair 🙂 There will be beading along my sweetheart neckline, and I want to wear long, dangly earrings, with my hair mostly back, so I’m going with no necklace.

@Manda613:  I wore a sweetheart dress and my bodice had beading and I skipped a necklace and went with statement earrings and a bracelet. I think if a bodice has details it looks best without a necklace…. So if yours has beading I’d skip it!

I have a modified sweetheart neckline and am wearing a bib statement necklace with it

ETA: I don’t have any beading around the neckline of my dress.

@Manda613:  For my sweetheart neckline, I skipped the necklace all together and went with statement earrings. It made more sense because my hair was side swept.

how will you be wearing your hair? If it was up, a necklace could work. What about a headpiece? My sister would say a bride can never overdo it, but I would disagree lol. I had a head piece, so again that solidified the no necklace decision.
