if we can pull it all together, we opted to move our wedding elopement to 13 days from now vs 3-5 months from now. I have tried on about 12 dresses and I like these the best. as of right now, I must find a dress that doesnt need any major alterations. let me know which dress you like (NOT the sash. I am sold on it no matter what) if you chose to comment on which you like, please tell me why.

I am a very rectangle shaped/boyish figure. I am a mom and 37. i feel like I am not curvy at all so was looking for something to make me look fuller. as you may see in a couple dresses, my chest looks very flat and I am hating the bone sticking out between the boobs making me look flatter... so I am stuck on what dress to get. (the J crew one is a impossibility at this point even tho its been my favorite fabric, color and weight on. it need major trimming at the bottom and its really hard to find in the size I need cause its discontinued)

this is a remarriage for us both so I asked FI to come with me to help take pics. he is fine with whatever I get BUT i asked his opinion obvioulsy.

$99 dress. very flat in front so I need to not gain a pound. (also this is a 4 and  need a size 6 to fit in my back chub) I like the front but the back has funny seems down it and its not pretty. I can turn the sash to the back tho for pics. for an elopement its comfy, fits like a glove but its a skinny dress. no volume. FI thinks its ok. he'd prefer something more full.

I hated this in the bag but on, i dont need any bra in it. it makes me feel skinny and like everything is in its place. the length is perfect and nothing needs to be fixed except the ugly bow to be taken off *which i am hiding with the sash. my FI doesnt like this dress. says its too foofy. its $250!!

the galina I have been googling over. I like it but not in love. the fabric is really icky to me. not smooth, and its heavy. the top cuts into my boobs making them flatter. but its flowy and gives me shape. it may need a tad bit of a hem. the bow has to be cut off. FI loves this one on me. I really love the back of it. its comfy to sit in.

the dress I have always wanted but refuse to pay $1K for. it need a HUGE hem and I am not crazy about the deep gap between my boobs, also smushing them down. not sure what bra or anything I could have worn with this. the back was not as flattering to my wide chest. plus side, I LOVED the feel of the fabric and it was comfy.

and just for fun a 5th dress i also liked that was $250 and needed seam work. this was a size 10 and I need a 6 so it was really hard to get a good feel for it. if I got this i would not want the bubble on the bottom. I would just have them press that flat.i was afraid I could not sit in this dress (forgot to try it) and i could not gain a pound or wear a corset. again didnt try it BUT the fabric was a silky smooth taffeta that I loved, the price was right, it had the detail I wanted... FI said I looked like a cha cha girl. yet he liked it a little. LOL

have always wanted the sash. I need a little pop of color or something for my taste. it started out to just cover the ugly flowers on it but now I really like the sash and so its a for sure on whatever dress I get :) the necklace is not mine, just did to see what it would look like.

I love dress 4! It looks very similar to one that used to be sold at David's Bridal. I bet you could find it online for $100.

@AlwaysSunny:  I have found one for $150 on a preowned site but I cant find much info on it. whats its made of tafetta or satin? I was also afraid the chest may be too covered. its a gamble to buy that one without trying it on first...

@sillyquirky:  I agree it's a risk without trying it on. I think it's tafetta. Here are some more reviews and pictures - http://reviews.davidsbridal.com/7294/6142350/final-sale-faile-ball-gown-with-v-neck-and-hidden-pockets-style-es9808-reviews/reviews.htm

@honeybee1999:  haha, I am doing sash. my soon to be hubby served in Navy and it sort of makes me think of it being more formal like his deep navy sailor suit. I really like it and so does he. its gotta stay ;)

@MzJynxie:  yay!! thats what I think. thank you. its a vera wang I think and reminds me of the high end line one with all the swooping detail.

I also love it cause it doesnt really need steaming. I can put it in a bag to travel and it should still look great coming out. where as all the others need major steaming.

this is a destination elopement 1200 miles from home.

also FI is fine with any price for the dress but Im the one who wants to save. its a dress, i just want to be comfy and cute and I want a great deal. I do realize if I got the galine or j crew I could get most of my money back reselling tho.

I love 2 and 4. I voted for 4 because your fiancé doesn't care for 2. It is important to me that my fiancé loves my dress, but not sure how you feel. Also, you don't look a day over 25!!!

the second one and the fourth one looks good. if you are worry about your boobs in the second dress, maybe you can wear some bra to push them up and make them look fuller and better, while the fourth one does not matter, as long as they have the built in pads, (just remember that if those models with small boobs can wear the dress, you can wear them as well)

I like the Galina the best.  Also you do NOT have back fat!  You look incredible for any age, but especially for 37 :)

Also, I love the sash. I am doing a black sash also.  My girls are in black dresses, and I ordered my dress from lightinthebox.com for $80 and it was ok...I didnt love it.  Untill I decided to try it with a black sash. LOVE

i woke up excited to read all the posts!! we just found out we can indeed get married right after Thanksgiving (wasnt sure cause of holiday hrs at the countys office and our hold time after) now we have to book it all.

my gutt says no to the galina. but he likes it so I would be willing to wear it. Im not sure about a bra, I have a corset that will push me up but it ads bulk to my width and then the dress will be too tight and not be able to breathe. i cant do strapless bras cause they never stay up, so I could just put cups in myself.

the 2nd dress, I would ABSOLUTELY take that blue ribbon bow off. its awful. way too young for my style.

@kjo:  yep. thats where I was at with all these dresses. really disliked every single one UNTIL I tried the black on. I did try on beige and blush too but it was too light for my liking. looked too young.

I like the galina or the 1st one. I also love the sash -- I disagree that it doesn't go with the dresses! I think it looks great.

My favorite is the $1000 J Crew... but that first one also looks GREAT on you!  And for $100, why not?!?  You really do look great in all of them though!

@Caroheart:  yep I agree. great dress but the chest was a part I hated. I just cant make em bigger or more pushed up... and there are cups in there.

right now I am teetering on the 1st and 2nd dress. for simplicity, ease of wear and i am not spending a ton. (which is a whole reason to elope so soon as well)

    @sillyquirky:  #1.

Or if not that one, #5  I guess (she said unenthusiastically)

I don't get it, you've got a great figure but I am not loving any of these on you.

#1 is simple, classic, unfussy, and suits you. The rest of them are just no. I like #4 but it is too bare on top. That dress #3 is one that I like in theory but it makes you look huge, and if YOU can't pull off that dress then I guess that no one can. Sad because I like it.

Personally, I really LOVE the $99 a-Line gown with the sash and the necklace.  Just seems to elegant and classic!

I do love me some JCrew gowns, but I think the slimmer gowns do your nice figure justice.

i sorta felt like I was drowning in the galina as well. j crew was actually so slim I had to pull on the dress to make it look fuller.

i really want something that looks great at all angles. its not happening thus far. I have not really gone to many places to shop tho. we figured we had plenty of time to look. but even if we waited till Spring, this sale is so good, i am afraid to pass it up. all clearance gowns are final sale or I would have bought them all and decided at home/returned the others.

I will say, this is very stressful, in an exciting crazy way.
