Looking for a really good cornbread recipe to make in a cast iron skillet – the kind thats just a little bit sweet and crunchy on the edges. I’ve never been able to perfect it, whats the secret?

My cornbread isn’t sweet (we don’t consider that southern where I’m from originally) but the secret to a good cornbread is using butter, buttermilk, and good, fresh cornmeal. =)

I use cornbread mix, and then add a little bit of sugar. I am not sure the exact proportions… i usually just cook by eyeing it. I wish I could help more!
