I thought I would share my mistakes publically today, because now the misery has worn off, I can see the funny side.
Earlier in the week, I got drunk. You see, I went out for lunch and there was a tattoo and piercing convention in the bar/restaurant. A lady there was getting a tattoo for her birthday and she was buying everyone drinks.
After a few drinks, my friend decided she wanted a tattoo. But only if I joined her.
…..You can see where this is going, can’t you?
… A few minutes later, there I was getting my head shaved so that I could get a hidden tattoo behind my ear. I chose a very similar design to my friend.
Despite everyone drinking at this stage, her tattoo turned out great. Mine… not so great. In fact, I now have to wait until it heals so I can have it redone. It looks AWFUL. The central motif is a squiggle, not a proper pattern, and it is not properly circular (which it should be).
It took me a while to see the funny side of this, but now I can. So if you want a good laugh at my expense, feel free. Allow it to be a cautionary tale. As for me, I suppose the one good thing is that FI may never find out what I did to my ear, seeing as it is extremely discrete. I just hope that it can be fixed…

Lunchtime drinking is dangerous. I’ve had a few margaritas around noontime and it was NOT fun for the rest of the day. Thankfully, my office is pretty laid back, and there’s generally a few beers open on Thursday or Friday afternoons.
Post a pic – you can always get it covered with a new design or enhanced into something else. I have a tattoo on the back of my neck (up near the hairline) so most people dont see it or know it’s there. So i love the behind the ear idea!

Oh no! A good tattoo place should be able to fix that up, if it’s a fairly basic thing!

Oh man, that sucks… I hope you can get it fixed but at least, it’s not somewhere really visible.

Oh no! My friend and I make bad decisions together often but usually they just involve gong to McDonalds in the middle of the night, lol. Can you post a pic?

@discodance: bahaha that was my thought exactly
That sucks! I’ve always loved tattoos in that spot (although I’m usually anti-tattoo) and I’m sure after it’s fixed it will look amazing.

OK guys, here it is. It was supposed to look like this:
Instead, it looks like this:
I mean, let’s be honest… what is that pattern in the middle? It looks like a tiny turd. I just hope it’s fixable!
