Check reviews online to see if you can find some good references.  Ask your friends if they use anyone for non wedding related alterations.

If you don’t find anyone then try calling around.  Ask questions. How long have you been doing wedding gowns, do you have pictures, references.  do you give complimentary consultations.  Then make appointment to talk to anyone you like and see if you are comfortable with them whey you go there.  If not, keep looking until you find someone you like.

It is very difficult to give cost estimates over the phone without seeing your gown so it is best to bring it to them for accurate costs.  Each gown is uniquely made.  Each alteration is unique to the bride, so the seamstress needs to see the gown on you and then view the dress and how it is constructed to determine the best way to make the alterations and determine cost.  Oh yes and sometimes there is more than one way to do the alterations.

Alterations Inc has been in business for over 24 years in Phoenix and we specialize in wedding gowns and formal wear.  Alterations Inc wants brides to have the best experience she can and we would love to help you with any questions you have about wedding alterations.

I got my dress altered at Pruneyard Custom Tailors in Campbell.  They were pricey ($350 for bustle, shorten, and minor alterations on the top plus a free steam) but they did an awesome job!  I had a lot of friends complain about their bustle wouldn’t hold and their dress came undone.  My alterations came out amazing!
