scrapbooking! i think it will keep me busy after the wedding! then babies! (i hope to be pregnant within 2 years after i get married so thats not really a hobby (more of a lifestyle lol) but again, itll keep me busy :)
Yeah the whole baby thing is not happening for us (ever) so I need something a little long term! hahahhaa I thought about scrapbooking - I think I need to take some tutorials though because mine never look as good as everyone else's!
I love taking classes for new and interesting things I like to try. You could try something like ceramics or pottery! Also, since you like to cook/bake, why not take a cooking class/classes? I am also interested in taking a photography course - perhaps that is something you might like too?
Michaels and Joanns both have scrapbooking classes. You might want to check them out. You could also take up knitting or crocheting or puzzles or sewing. I am going to continue to sew, craft, and scrapbook after the wedding. My family expects scarfs every Christmas, so I will also continue to knit. There will be no children for us either. I almost forgot, I also paint in my spare time. You could take some classes for that too.
ohhh i would love to take a pottery class! i loved art in highschool and im pretty good at it... i always wanted to try making a bowl on one of thos spinning tables or whatever theyre called haha!
My friend takes pottery - they have 6 week classes around here - she is an ER RN and said its so relaxing!
I like basketball(shooting hoops) so if fiance cancoach me some more I would like to eventually join a beginning basketball girls league
I also used to be a runner when I was in school, so I would like to get back in shape to the point where I could join a running club and enter track meets.
I've taken parks and rec classes before, such as painting...not so good, but its fun:)
Another hobby is scrapbooking.
My job keeps me really busy.....I'm a teacher and I sometimes do tutoring and academic coaching(for teachers) as well.......so sometimes even that feels overwhelming having so much on on my plate there at work...
I'm an absolute nut for crossword puzzles and Sudoku (not Sudoku quite so much, as numbers tend to make my head hurt).
I second sudoku - I could spend hours doing puzzles! Also, I have been finding new good books to read. DH and I decided we want to get into wine so we started a wine tasting journal and plan to do some winery tours. Also want to look up new recipes and try new things!
Calligraphy is great because it requires a lot of focus (at least for me!) and you can create beautiful things with it. I also enjoy scrapbooking :), but the supplies are so expensive!
How about volunteering? Or taking a class? I'm still in the middle of planning our wedding, but there are so many classes in the community I want to take. I'm going to register for a flower arranging class with my sister and if I had the time I would be taking some sewing or jewelry making classes.
Have you heard of Knock Off Wood? It's a website with detailed plans on how to build your own furniture. Go to www.ana-white.com and check it out! It's all about empowering women and hand making your home. I love it!
try knitting or crocheting... I definitely could not do it but I really wanted to... calligraphy sounds cool... I am almost interested in taking that up to do my invites... my house and animals keep me pretty busy though... and any downtime from work is usually spent sleeping
I'm getting ready to start designing our album, and also some for our parents. That should keep me busy thru the next few mos. and then I'll be planning for the holidays!
Also I'll be getting back to my freelance design business (since I couldn't really focus on clients for the past month) and maybe get back to clothing design.
Before the wedding plans took over my life I really enjoyed scrapbooking and baking! I'm hoping to jump back into those after the big day... I worry sometimes, too, that I won't have enough to do after the wedding is over! Common problem I know, but still!
such a great ideas! Maybe I'll try a little bit of everything before I "settle" down w/ 1! hahaha
We're big runners, but I also want to take a cooking class or start indoor climbing as the weather turns colder. I've recently gone trapezing off a living social deal, after doing it the first time I'm definitely considering going more often to the classes and improving, it's a crazy adreniline rush!
@seattlemeg: ha i wish i was a big runner! what a great hobby to have! keeps you in shape and i hear its relaxing (although not so much for me since im dying after about the first mile haha)
@stephanie63087 I've been running competitvly since i was 12 years old, for the most part it's been awesome, but it def gets hard at times. We try to go at least 3 times a week, one of those being a big social event with a run club (where we met) where afterwords we go out for pizza and beer as a big group. I am with you on the baby timeline! two years after we're married I want to be preggers! yay, I'm excited to be the lady with the jogging stroller :-) I've gotten friends who at first couldn't run a mile and ended up doing marathons. It's a lot about being brave enough to get out there, run that one mile a couple of times and then challenging yourself to run the next one. It can be super relaxing and mind clearing.
I wish I could run - I feel like I'm gonna stop breathing after a few minutes - I guess its something I would have to "work myself up to"
well i fell way to consumed with the weding planning so to get my mind of weddings i started baking again and doing cakes!!! i have also started sugar paste flowers, i love to scrapbook, and also i would like to become a "big sister" for the big borther big sister program!!!
What about blogging? You could blog about recipes, fashion, life in general. Or perhaps a foreign language or wine class?

So for the last 2 1/2 years I have been consumed (although not entirely) with this wedding planning.....
I was thinking I may need to take up a hobby after the wedding! Nothing outdoors as the weather is turning chilly and I have a job w/ a LOT of down time. Any suggestions? I already read a lot and love to look up recipes when I'm bored.
When did everyone else do to fill the time? Or what are you planning on doing?
