Hello to everyone…well this is my first time doing something like this, but it’s worth a try, so here it goes…
I am in search of a photographer that is in Manhattan New York. Reason being is because I live in Atlanta, Georgia and me and my fiance’ will be going to Manhattan NY on April 21st, 2013 to the courthouse to get married. This will be our first time going to New York, so we really need some help here…lol. Also, we would like to know how the process works as well. We are both women and we need a photographer that is o.k. with this. We would like to come into contact with one that is reasonable and that have great potential for creating beautiful memories.
So, if there is anyone out there that can help us in letting us know what we are in for and if there is a great photographer out there to be of service to us…..please send me a reply.

I’d say our best bet is either to get googling or to hire a planner to help with the Search. Check out their blogs to see if they have shot same sex weddings before. You can also search some sites that are specificly for same sex couples. I’m sorry this is something you have to be concerned with. I can’t speak for the US but in Canada I know very few photographers who don’t welcome and honor same sex marriage. Best of luck!

Immediately run to apracticalwedding.com
Several of these photographers have elopement deals. Good luck!
ETA: Missed the part the first time that you’re a same-sex couple. You should start living on apracticalwedding.com. Super gay-friendly, awesome site in general. I’m pretty sure all or nearly all of the vendors there love same-sex couples; some of the photographers listed say so explicitly in their profiles on that site, and have proof in their portfolios that they’ve worked with gay couples in the past.

@dynamicdivaz38: basically everything that @gcwest: said. APW is bomb and while I can’t remember her name, there is a photographer who’s a vendor there that SPECIALIZES in NYC engagements. Her work is fab and I’m pretty sure it’s fairly reasonable.
Good luck and congrats!
