Basically, my mother in law is wonderful. She loves me like her own child and I love her too. Now that I am married to her son, I really want to give her a very special gift. Problem is, I can’t find anything. When I type in “mother in law” gift I end up with restaurant certificates and spa days. I’m actually looking for something very meaningful.
I thought about getting her one of those mother/daughter keepsake books, but when I looked into it, it really doesn’t apply. The questions and pages you fill out have a lot to do with growing up, childhood, etc. I’m looking for a similar idea though. Something that will let her know that she is still in her son’s life, and will always play a part and that this really is just a “new” version of family.
Anyone have any ideas or anything they’ve given to their mother in laws or received that were very special?

Well, I haven’t given it yet – but I’m giving both sets of parents adoramapix albums with our wedding pics in them. Maybe something like that? Or even better……what about one with some really cute pics of your Darling Husband growing up? And then maybe of few of your wedding or more recent events?

You could search the net for a nice daughter-in-law, mother-in-law poem. Or write one. Or ifyou can’t find a mother-in-law one you like you could find one for a mothr and tweak it to fit your needs. Just make sure to still give credit to the author. Frame with poem and include a picture of the two of you.

What about starting a Pandora or similar bracelet for her? That way you always have something that you can get her and the beads are something that you can pick out for her that will remind you of her. You could also use the beads as a way of remembering vacations with her!
