I think you can skip them. It's pretty common now that people don't do them. If you're ceremony however is very long, and lots of people are not of the same faith, sometimes it helps your guest to understand what's left and where you are.
@MissShork: Skip em! Can do a poster near the entrace? That way people have an idea of how long it will be.
I think you can definitely skip them. If you're doing something unusual, it's nice to explain what's happening, but if it's more straightforward I think you're good to go!
Thanks bees. I'm gonna skip 'em. The weight is already lifting off my shoulders!
I just needed someone say that my wedding wouldn't be ruined without them. lol

Less than 20 days to my wedding (yikes! & yay!)
And I still haven't done church programs yet. It'll be a Catholic wedding in a Catholic church with our mostly Catholic families. I was just gonna make simple programs with just the basic "who's who" and readings. Due to planning difficulties (aka crazy inlaws) I don't know my music selections or the names of certain people performing different ceremony roles. So I can't even make them yet.
Soooo... can i just skip the programs? Will people miss them? They'd be so last minute by the time I made them and they wouldn't look to fancy anyways.
