hi! we used Holly Green at www.outoftheordinary.biz . her rates were great. we got ALL of our photos on disc, with a release for us to do with them as we please. She took so many photos. And she was great to work with. My brother has her booked for his wedding next year. check her and good luck.

As for vendors, I would suggest checking out Erik Korver. We just booked him, he may be willing to travel to Albany (he lives outside of Norwich, I believe)

What budget were you thinking of for the photographer? I am using Tracey Buyce, whose work I've liked for a long time. Her rates are in the $3K range. The most recommended photographers in the area are the Elarios, but they are pricey in the $6K plus range and their work is good, but not outstanding. Emma Dodge Hanson is also quite good. During my search, I also liked Casey Connolly and their rates are really good.

We're using a Hudson Valley-based photographer, but our second choice was going to be Heather Bohm Tallman, who's based in Saratoga Springs. She's amazing, and I think in the $3K range. Here's her blog site:

Her sister-in-law is also doing our wedding cake as well :) We're actually not using a DJ, so I don't have any recommendations for that. Sorry!

My FI and I are planning our wedding to be in Albany, where we met at school. However we don't live in the area any more. So, I will be doing all the planning with 800 miles between myself (I live in the Richmond, Va area) and Albany. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a DJ & photographer? Because of our jobs, it is going to be difficult for us to make trips to Alb. to meet people and review there work. I just don't want to make a decision that I am not going to be happy with at my wedding. Thanks fellow bees!
