Hi bees! I am on the hunt for 150 gold charger plates. My venue rents them for $2 a piece, however my sister is getting married in the same year as myself, so we figured we could buy them and split the cost to make it cheaper and both use them.
Does anyone know where I can buy good quality charger plates for $3 or less? I am hesitant to order online without seeing the plates themselves as I do not want plates that look obviously plastic or cheap. But if anyone has had good experience with any retailers, I would love to hear your feedback.
Please help! I would also be interested in buying used plates from anyone who has some charger plates from their own wedding.

@jltoth: I too needed gold charger plates. I first bought some from Hobby Lobby which were $2 each and seemes like a good deal when I first got them but when I took a look at home the “gold foil” had these seam lines that I though were tacky. Every gold charger I have gotten my hands on has been plastic with a black bottom. I eventually returned the Hobby Lobby cheap ones and ended up getting better ones from Save On Crafts online for $2 each and they’re nicer. I looked online but they look like they’re sold out now (I probably cleared them out). A coworker of mine is also getting married and she bought bronze colored chargers from amazon for $5 each and they were pretty heavy duty plastic. So i’d take a look at amazon too, maybe you can find something cheaper. Good luck

@BarelyBridal: Thank you so much! I had been eyeing the chargers at Save On Crafts online. I am glad to hear that you thought they would good quality. I don’t mind if the bottom is black (I would highly doubt guests are going to be picking up the plates and inspecting them) so I will definitely keep my out to see if they come back in stock anytime soon. Thanks for the help!

@jltoth: BB&B is selling 6 chargers for $10 and if you can snag one of their coupons you can save 20% on them.

I always get a bunch of chargers at Michaels right around or after the holidays for $1 each. They are gold with the black plastic bottom, but they look great! I use them when we host Thanksgiving. They are normally $2-3.

@jltoth: I have the gold chargers with the black bottom. They are in great condition, as I have used only once. Not sure of your location, but I would be willing to rent them out for .80 each. I have 150 of them
