in all honesty this is one of my fav dresses and i love the bow so i voted dont change it. your friend is getting married Oct 11 and you are getting married Aug 12 – i dont think guests will remember the dresses to be honest.  goodluck!

I would just keep it the same.  It kinda sucks that she has the same dress, but it is beautiful and most guests probably wouldn’t notice since your weddings are almost a year apart.

I wouldn’t change it either really. The only thing I was thinking would be to replace the current buckle with a brooch of your liking -just to add a personal touch.

Even though its the same dress I am sure you’ll both wear it differently and allow your individual personalities to shine through with accessories.

I voted to keep it the same.  I have seen this dress a few times on the bee and I really love it the way it is.

I love the idea of moving the bow. Honestly, I love this dress but I always feel that the bow is awkward. What does the back of the dress look like? It would help to see a picture of the back so I can tell if the bow would look good there.

I dont think  you need to get another dress because of this. However, I think you should talk to her about it so she isnt surprised. Maybe just a quick email.

I think it’s a beautiful dress, and I like the bow right where it is.  If you wanted to add buttons, I think they’d probably look great (one of my favorite dress details!), but might not be that noticeable to anyone else.

I’d probably think about accessories rather than changes to the dress if you want to have a different “look” than your friend.

The dress is lovely the way it is~I voted not to change. I don’t think the bow would look good on the back and the bow+ribbon I can’t picture working together. If you are set on a change, what about removing the bow and adding a beaded belt or just the ribbon?

This may be a dumb idea, but how do you think it would look if the entire bow was a different color?  Perhaps a colored sash with the bow if the bow alone doesn’t look right in a different color.  I don’t really know how it would look.  I’m just throwing it out there.

Maybe add some 3D floral elements insead? Or maybe add some spaghetti straps? Or maybe you could add some lace on the top half? You’d be amazed at the things a seamstress can do.

I would suggest taking it to your seamstress after the other wedding and asking her to mock up a few simple alterations that could really change the feel of the dress without making it look “different” there are lots of tricks 🙂
