Steiner Studios in Brooklyn has great views of the river and Manhattan. $185 a person, so it might be too expensive.
Have you tried Wave Hill in Riverdale, Bronx? Might be too far away for you, but it is truly gorgeous without being overly rustic.

battery gardens in downtown manhattan has gorgeous views and the prices are very reasonable. Ilene (one of the hosts at BG) is very professional and organized. www.batterygardens.com
ditto on battery gardens. pretty good pricing. great water views. ability to do outdoor ceremony. also worth looking into is pier sixty and/or the lighthouse at chelsea piers.

Hi there.
We are having our wedding in New York and are looking an affordable venue with a great water (lake/sound) views and beautiful natural beauty.
We are looking for places in Long Island or any place that's within a two hour drive from long island. We want to keep reception costs under 15K, tho we could go higher. Need a place that accomodate up to 200 people.
Any ideas?
