Hey everyone, i have a question I need some advice from brides.
I have an online boutique that sells Bridal Shoes and I have been trying to find more ways to help brides in their difficult search for bridal shoes.
I’m thinking of trying out a 60 day return policy in the future, hoping this will relief a lot of the stress of buying online.
The idea would be that these 60 days will give brides enough time to try the shoes on their first fitting, second fitting, etc etc, and be able to fully decide if the shoes go well with the dress or whatnot.
We know dresses tend to change and so it’s nice to have these shoes without a full commitment to try as long as you need to.
Do you girls think this is something that would bring you lot of value in your search for shoes? Would you buy from a store that provided that?

Also, is it even necessary to have 60 days? Do brides need that long to try them on? how much time did it take you to decide and buy?

I don’t think that a 60 day trial would bring as much business as free shipping+returns. I have a hard time finding shoes at all (I have a wide foot and high arch) and would never buy shoes online. However, Zappos offers free shipping to you and free shipping back for returns. There’s no way that I would pay shipping both ways just to try on a pair of shoes. However, Zappos makes it free and of the 3 pairs I ordered to try, one was just right and I’ll probably be wearing those.

I agree about the Zappos return policy. They even give you 365 days to make returns. I know that’s not realisitic for a smaller boutique, so I think 60 days could work. I already have my shoes, but don’t get to try it with my dress for another 90 days, so your return policy wouldn’t work for me, but it would me nice…maybe even a 90 day return policy.

Most brides I know bought their shoes at either zappos or endless.com because of the 365 day return policy and the free shiping and returns. I’ve aready purchased 20 pairs and returned 18!

shoes.com and Shoesbuy.com also has free shipping/returns and that was very important to me. I bought 4 pairs and kept 1. Shipping is one of the reasons I rarely buy online without seeing it in a store first. I think thier return policy is 60 days, which is barely enough for me. Us brides love to choose details early and sometimes (well, almost always) change thier minds at some point!! Also I bought some shoes then had to wait 30 days for my dress to come in!
One thing I think is important is good search features. To search by color, heel height, and price, and to be able to mix those searches in different ways.

30 or 60 days is reasonable but 90 days is a great amount of time… as in i’d be much more likely to buy from there… for example i am just returning some corsets/bras i bought in feb just within the 90 day return policy… i bought them thinking i could try on soon but just finally got to try them on w my dress this weekend. altho as a small shop owner i’d be afraid of shoes going out of style but also wear & tear on the shoes. many places have short policies bc they dont want people wearing the shoes out to "test" around town!
