    Hi Bees,

My dress, the Allure C160, has a lot of small details with flowers and swarovsky crystals throughout, but from a distance, overall, the dress's silhouette is rather simple. (as you can see by the Allure site here: http://www.tjformal.com/637300/products/Allure-Couture-Wedding-Dress-C160.html )

So here I am at an impasse, and I'm not sure how to accessorize my wedding dress, let alone how to dress myself from day to day Tongue out That's where you ladies come in! Should I go after some modest double strand pearls to pair with the dress, or something more elaborate, like these little numbers from Etsy?  http://www.etsy.com/listing/65003925/multi-strand-necklace-with-white

    or http://www.etsy.com/listing/68399521/free-shipping-choker-necklace-with-fw?ref=pr_shop

    or   http://www.etsy.com/listing/72053592/multi-strand-necklace-with-fw-pearlmop

Or, if you have alternate suggestions, I'm open to hearing them!

What do you think? Here's my dress:

Your dress has a lot of detail. I would skip the necklace and do some pretty pearl drop earrings and a bracelet. How are you wearing your hair?

I second no necklace and simple pearl earrings and a simple bracelet. You'll overpower yourself if you have more than that going on!

Yeah. I was undecided about how I'm going with my hair. Probably a loose up-do, or half up and half down. I was afraid of "overdoing it", but there's something about my dress that's missing in my opinion. I'm not sure what though, and I'm not sure it's the necklace / no necklace issue.

Help? What's missing? Or is it just me?

@JulesSchnooks:  Your gown is amazingly gorgeous and detailed!  I don't think a necklace is needed either.  Do you have your earrings picked out already??

@melisslp: I don't! I've been kind of paralyzed in this process because I'm a very simple girl usually, and I wanted to go in a different direction for my wedding. Now that I'm in the middle of a style change, I'm thoroughly confused by it, you know? :)

Would drop or chandelier earrings be appropriate, or just a simple kind of stud?

@JulesSchnooks:  You're funny!  I think it's "brave" of you to go for something a little different than what you're used to, but I wouldn't go too overboard (you don't want to look back at your photos and think, "who is that?").  I think it would be great if you could find a gorgeous pair of earrings that mimic the floral pattern on your gown with a little bling.  Or maybe a bracelet similar to what I just described (and you posted) with a simple pair of earrings. Just a thought...

First off--gorgeous dress. LOVE the detail. I really think no necklace would be the best. It's already so beautiful on its own with all of the detail--I think any necklace would just be too much. Also, I don't think anything is "missing" like you said. I think some killer earrings would look great with it though. Also, have you tried it on with your hair and makeup done? That might complete the look for you.

    @melisslp:

That was my thought process with the necklaces I was looking at, since they picked up the floral motif. But I think you're on to something with the earrings and bracelet.

I think part of the problem is I'm having a little bit of dress remorse too, which is normal. Once my dress is here in person and I'm able to have my next fitting, I'll be less confused on what to pair with it.

It was the one and only dress I put on that I wasn't critical of my body in, but it surprised me, because it's not the dress I always imagined getting married in. I know once I have it, everything will fall into place.

@JulesSchnooks:  Ohhhh, girl!  You should have NO reason for having dress remorse.  The gown is breathtaking and it looks amazing!!!  I'm actually having dress-envy right now and wishing I could've worn your gown!  Wink

I started looking at earrings and found these amazing chandelier earrings with a floral pattern.  I'm sure there are a TON more on Etsy that are cheaper.  I think something like these would look perfect with your gown.  However, I'd probably go with either a large/blingy pair of earrings or bracelet ... but, not both ... you want people to concentrate on your amazing gown, not all of the jewels (even though we take forever to choose everything).  lol

@melisslp:  Thanks so much for your help! You did a lovely job with those earrings-- I was really kind of stuck on whether dangly earrings would be overkill too. Those bracelets are also really amazing! I'm going to have a tough decision coming up, but I'm really digging those bracelets you posted. I may have a winner. :)

Gorgeous dress.  I love the other Bees ideas about picking up the floral motif in the dress with earrings and a bracelet, and totally agree no necklace.

I love your dress!!!  I also think that you should pick either earrings or a bracelet depending on how you wear your hair.  If it's going to be all up, I would go for the earrings, but if it's half up/all down, go for the bracelet because people won't see the earrings as much, ya know?

I was in the same boat as you, except my dress was really simple, and I wanted accessories that would pop.  Have you also considered a hair fascinator instead of jewelry?

I would try to borrow some similar pieces from friends/family and try them on with your dress to see what style you like best, then buy after that.  Sometimes it just takes seeing it all together on you in order to decide.

If you really want to wear a necklace you could go with a simple flooting pearl or on an invisible chain.  I really like those bracelets that melisslp showed.

@piglet_625: I have thought about a hair fascinator, and I am (ironically) fascinated by them! Wink  If I opted for one, I could still do a bracelet, right? Or is that over doing it? I really like those bracelets melisslp posted. There's just something about the fascinators that I like too.

I guess I'm a sucker for flowers, but I don't want to drown in them.
