Hi all!! I just bought my dress yesterday and I love it! I’m just not sure of a few things…does it need a belt? What accessories look best with this style of dress? Its a Maggie Soterro Lori dress in light gold. Thanks a million!

Your dress is STUNNING on you! I like it as is without a belt, but then again I’m horrible at accessorizing and I’m sure a lot of other bees have some more useful input!

I don’t think it *needs* a belt… but the right belt could work. Have you tried any on? I find that taking photos with different belts can really help see. I’d pick something simple… like a sash in a color or a skinny rhinestone belt if you add one.
I would pair a simple necklace with it. For necklaces, you want their shape to mimick the neckline on your dress. So a pendant on a medium length chain would be better than a short strand of pearls. I would just do earrings (simple drop or beautiful diamond studs) and a thin belt. The dress has beautiful detail and I think anything too big or too flashy would take away from the dress.

Palladiumandasschers: Congrats on getting your gorgeous dress! I’m a fan of sashes and belts with wedding dresses, so maybe you can try some to see how you like it paired with your dress.
For accessories, I wouldn’t go overboard with the jewelry though since it looks like your dress already has some sparkle . A combo of any 2 pieces like statement earrings with a bracelet would be plenty. I’d even look into some rose gold jewelry since I think that would really highlight the peachy color tone of your dress.

I love your dress! That neckline is gorgeous! Wish I would have tried this on! My dress is also a Maggie in light gold 🙂
I would juat accessorize with earrings and a bracelet. maybe a small necklace if you felt it was necessary. I don’t like sashes or belts 99% of the time, I think the dresses look better without them.

Palladiumandasschers: I would go with drop earrings and a chunky bracelet. We can give more advice if you explain how you want to look- what are you going for? I worked high end retail for years, it’s tough to give recommendations if you don’t know someone’s style. Are you classic, preppy, vintage, romantic, etc? Also a bit hard to tell your skintone, gold jewelry could be stunning with this but I can’t tell if your undertones are yellow or red.

@swonderful I’m definitely more laid back. My wedding is in a garden and my reception is in a historic mansion. Were only inviting like 85 people so were going for more of an intimate romantic feel.y skin tone is more olive/yellow. By engagement ring is palladium so its a silver tone.

A belt would look strange with this dess. Partly because it is a nude color underneath.

I would definately add some nice drop earrings or a nice sparkly headpiece/headband. Gorgeous dress!

Someone I knew from high school wore this dress at her wedding and she wore it with a chunky pearl necklace that had a bit of crystals in the center. From a distance it almost looked like straps. It was just absolutely stunningly gorgeous!

Palladiumandasschers: Ok, that helps a lot! Here’s how I would accessorize for the look you want:
1. I would add a belt that PERFECTLY matches the underlay color of your dress (I’m sure you could find one or have one made, I would choose something without bling, just a simple sash that will accentuate the goldish color. If you can’t match it I would try a lavendar or light blue sash.
2. Headpiece could be gorgeous, maybe something lace like-
Or more of a classic bridal headband-
3. If you choose a headpiece, I would pair with pearl stud earrings and no necklace. If you don’t use a headpiece (maybe you have a veil already) I would go for drop earrings that have a casual ease to them-
I actually think the beauty of the neckline would compete with a necklace, so my instinct is to have no necklace.
Does this help?

Yes! I agree, I really like the neck line so I was iffy on a necklace. I have my grandma’s pearls I was thinking about wearing, but maybe I will opt for just the earrings, which are diamond and pearl drops. I was thinking a broach type thing in the hair as well, instead of a veil.
Thanks for all the input ladies!

Palladiumandasschers: so pretty on you I was between this one and the emma maggie sotterro i went with emma for me in light gold. I’ve never seen lori in light gold it’s stunning. Try a couple belts and see how u feel. 🙂 I did big earrings and bracelet. I feel like if you do a necklace then do smaller earrings so it’s not too much 🙂
