I need to insure my ring. I never had to insure anything other than house and car so not sure exactly what the coverage should include. Should I have it insured to iclude replacement cost or what it is appraised at?
Any help will be appreciated!

An apprasial will typically add a little padding over what you paid for it in case the price of gold/diamonds fluctuates. You can get different kinds of coverage. Some companies will write you a check, others will allow you to get a reasonable replacement, and some let you choose. The best way to do it is to figure out what you’re comfortable with and then start calling companies. We have my rings insured with our home owners and car insurance.

take it to a gemologist first. they will give you the replacement cost. your insurance co. will ask for the gemologist report and insure it by that. my husband got me a 5ct eternity ring, and the replacement value was 3 times what my husband paid for it. the insurance is not expensive at all.
