Hi everyone, esp. all you Maggie brides out there 🙂
I need your help/opinions based on your experiences regarding Maggie Sottero dress size. I’m a size 0-2 according to the chart: 31.5 / 24.5 / 33.5 inches. I found a dress in size 6, it has a corset back. I’m not sure if small me will be swallowed up by a size 6 corset/lace-up.
I’d like to hear your experiences about choosing sizes & whether you think a size 6 would be way too huge for me. Thanks everyone 🙂

I wear a size 2-4 in real life and mine was a size 8 in Maggie dresses.

If you’re a 2 on the Maggie sizing chart, I would think you’d be swallowed up by a 6. Trying on dresses, the sample sizes were about that far off from my real size and we needed so many clamps just to see what they would look like! I think that’d be too much fabric for a seamstress to take in and still have it look right…but I’m not a seamstress, so I might be wrong. I just think that many sizes off seems like quite a lot.

If the difference is more than 2 inches, you are probably making a huge mistake. Especially if the dress has a lot of lace on it. The alterations costs will be astronomical.

Technically, by the Maggie size chart, I *should* be wearing a 14 or 16 but a 10 fit just fine. Weird.

I think i can give u a good answer since i was in ur shoes few months back
i am a size 0-2 in real life…my measurements are: 34-25-36.5 i tired on a size 6 at the store and it fitted me when the lace was very tight , therefore it did not show the pretty lace detail in the back…i was in a time crunch because my wedding plans changed and my other dress was not good anymore…so i found another bride who had my dream dress (Maggie Sottero’s Anniston) and she was going to wear another it was new with tags..down side was it was size 8!! now my measurements are all over the chart there is never ONE SIZE that fits everything perfectly for me ..long story short i went with the size 8…was drowning in it…BUT i had a wonderful seamstress she had to take the dress in A LOT to make it fit perfectly…ur wedding is far enough i say do what i did..find a great seamstress and have her take it in…BUT before u do check prices..i got everything done (cups sewn in, hemmed, train cut off. side and hips taken in..steamed) for 200$s..most places would have cost me MUCH MORE ..but in the end everything in i saved myself around 500$s off the retail price 🙂
U will fit a size 0 fine on the chart and MAY be able to fit in size 2..6 will be way too big 🙂 corsets only help with an inch or less difference 🙂
