@lynoure:  Do you have any close ups of the bodice.  I cannot see the beading in the pictures.

@lynoure:  If Jasmines accepts the fabric from you and it is really than important for you to have that special fabric, then go ahead.

I am also not sure where the beading is, it is the ‘polka dot’ look on the top layer?

They really do fantastic beading, so if I were you I would feel comfortable about that part, just need to match the beads.

@Aussiemum:  I was thinking the same thing from the picture it doesn’t look like beading but a pattern embossed on the fabric that is why I asked for bodice pictures.

Are they letting you send them your own fabric?

I am thinking of having them make my dress, and I would love to send them my own (silk) fabric.

Please let us know what they say!

@lynoure:  I would trust what they say they are capable of.  I really think they can achive the beading.  But not sure what sorts of beads they have that can replicate the ones on the dress.  So ask them to send you picture samples.  Also I haven’t seen the dress in real life.

Don’t worry about helping you, we all just love to see the dresses and as you can tell from reading this thread, you get some fantastic assistance regarding the dress.

Also it is worth the extra cost to get actual samples of the fabric.  My daughter and I were very happy with the designer grade satin and georgette we selected for here dress and my MOB dress.  We also got samples of the tuelle for her veil and the organza fabric for the flower girl dresses.  Getting the fabric right goes a long way to being happy with the dress.

But really their beading is wonderful.

It looks like a square flat sequin with seed beads/short buggle beads to me but James will be able to advise best. If that is what they are it’s the best choice as they will not create too much weight.

If you love the fabric get that fabric but I’ll go with the fabric from Jasmine’s. Btw I’m looking into buying a dress from Jasmine’s as well.

@lynoure:  I’ll suggest you to get some samples from them and make the decision after you actually can compare the quality.

I agree with your concerns about sending your own fabric. Besides what you already mentioned, I’d say it’s not an economical choice… I read the fabric website you posted, and I think the overall price is super high! I guess if you insist to get high quality of fabric, you can ask Jasmine’s to give you a quote for this special order. They probably can get the same quality of fabric with a better price than that website.  (Most of the fabrics in the world are made in Asia. It’s definitey not cheaper to get fabrics in the United States, especially from NYC. )

    Good luck!

I also ordered my dress in jasmine, my dress ALSO never been done for them. I asked for an upgrade in the tissue, however, as her dress is more elaborate, suggest an upgrade in fabric and sewing! NO MORE, I’M HAPPY TO DATE, MY DRESS IS NOT READY YET, BUT THE PICTURES THAT I RECEIVED TILL NOW, LIKE IT!
