Hello!
I wil also be wearing the Watters Austin gown. :) Love!
My seamstress will be doing all the pressing for me after alterations. I pick it up the Friday before the day and she recommends immediately hanging it in the hotel. I would not take an iron to the dress, organza should be professional done from what I've been told.
Good luck!
Hello,
I recently wore the Watters Austin at my wedding in august. I did all alterations before any pressing. I recommend a professional pressing if that is an option for you. The creases seemed so sharp while going through the alterations process, however after pressed they still stood out but were much much softer like I had imagined they would be. Mine hung for about 3 weeks with no problems, so I think you are probably safe. don't worry the wrinkles will come out!
Best wishes!

Hi bees!
My wedding is about 2 months awayand I've only recently received my wedding dress, the Watters Austin (yeah, totally procrastinated until 4 months out!
).
Since I am not getting the dress altered at a bridal shop, I have to store my dress at home and and I'd love some advice froml brides who wore Watters Austin:
1) Did you hang the dress for an extended period of time prior to the wedding? The two little loops seem so flimy! I'm worried the loops will just tear and ruin the dress
2) Did you send the dress out for professional pressing if you didn't use a full-service boutique? Or steaming? Or did you iron it yourself??? Gosh, talk about a wrinkly dress!
3) How did you/professional cleaner deal with the unique triagular-shaped folds? Currently, there are (intentional, I think) creases coming down from those folds - Did you keep those creases or steam/press the hell out of it?
4) My alteration is scheduled about 4 weeks from now - should I get the dress pressed/steamed now or wait until after alterations? I've read somewere that creases in organza need to be treated asap or else it becomes permanent.
Thank you so so much for reading and helping. I appreciate comments from anyone who has worn a silk organza dress before. Have a nice evening!
