- Wedding: May 2014
So we just got engaged about a week ago. Called everyone in the family, sent pictures and texts, posted on FB etc. My FH parents were out of cell range the day we got engaged but we sent them pictures and left voice mails so they would know as soon as they got back. My FH left for work the day after and he has not had cell service since then. I sent my FIL’s an email saying how excited I was and letting them know the venue and the date and asking for their input and advice. Let my Future Mother-In-Law know that I was really looking forward to her being involved in the planning process. They live across the country from us so email is the best way to communicate most of the time.
They got back into cell range three days ago. The only thing I have heard from them is a text from my Future Mother-In-Law asking where my FH was. No mention of the engagement no congrats no nothing. I waited to see if she would get me email. No response to the email. Last night I sent her another one, just trying to reach out, tellign her I would really like her input if she was interested in helping.
I have heard nothing from any of them. My Future Brother-In-Law posted on FB about how excited she was for us and she commented a “congrats” on that. But there has been no personal contact between us regarding the engagement. I’m very very hurt and it’s kind of putting a damper on my excitement to plan. I don’t really know how to handle it. My Fiance is not in the position where he can communicate with anyone. We are barely able to imessage each other due to his remote location. He’s going to be MIA for several more weeks and I really need to move forward with wedding planning. I’m just not sure where to go from her in regards to my Future Mother-In-Law.
