I would suggest stepping outside of the ‘bridesmaid dress’ box. If you wait for christmas time/new years eve, you will find a lot of cute black/gold dresses that aren’t too expensive.

@MrsErvin:  I agree with PP’s I would try to look at department stores or or anywhere other than a bridal store really.  I just bought my girls a maxi dress from JC Penney for like 30 bucks a piece! And they look great.  They really may be able to wear them again!

I looked at kohls, dillards, macy’s etc.

You could try modcloth.com?

Or even renting dresses. Theres a website that will ship you dresses and you just have to mail them back.

Otherwise where are you? That will depend on wbat stores you have available to you.

@memo:  Yeah, I agree on Forever 21.

Also worth checking: Target (which has a cheap bridesmaid dress line!), H&M, Asos (online-only), or buying once-worn bridesmaids’ dresses online.

I only have an MOH but she is going to wear black.  We are going to the mall on Friday to shop, and I’m thinking of starting with Marshall’s!  They have cute name brand dresses and cheap.  We are also going to Macy’s, Dillard’s, White House Black Market, Bebe, J Crew, etc.  Some of these stores have great sales or coupons.

If you’re getting married around a homecoming, winter formal, prom time, you could check out sales after the events. Several department stores around here have sales on dresses dramatically reduced afterwards.

@MrsErvin:  Have your friend go to/check out Torrid online. They have a TON of “party” and occassion dresses, and almost always in black.
