So. Both dresses are beautiful.
The venue is a cathedral, formal reception.
The FIRST DRESS:
Beautiful lace, pictures honestly don’t do it justice, it sparkles, its elegant, beautiful, but I don’t know that it’s the most flattering cut. I think I need an A-line. The trumpet cut seems to accentuate my hips in a bad way
The SECOND DRESS:
is flowy, pretty, hides my hips.
But plain…. Maybe not as formal.
And I’m not sure what I’ll do with it as far as shoulder coverage for the ceremony (I have a lace bolero to go with the lace one)
Oh and I already bought the lace one. But I found a good deal on a sample of this one.

I voted #2 – I agree that the a-line suits you better.
But I think you should keep looking. You clearly want lace and a bit of sparkle, and the second dress doesn’t have those things. I’m sure you will find something that is perfect.

Okay, two points.
1. Your hips look pretty darn good in that trumpet style. I have to disagree with you on that wholeheartedly.
2. HOWEVER, I do need to ask you, is that all you will be focusing on when you are wearing the dress? Because if your dress in anyway brings attention to an area that you are self conscious about and will drive you crazy your entire wedding day, DO NOT BUY IT. 🙂
However, I think you look like a gem in the first one, and the second one is less formal, but in a way a bit more romantic. Have you taken the lace bolero with you, to see how it looks together. Sometimes lace & organza are pretty amazing together.
I completely get your dilemma. Both the flowly organza and the fitted lace are both my style, too. But just from the attention you have placed on your hips… I would go with the organza, because I think you may be more comfortable in it.

the lace is beautiful, the organza is rather plain for a cathedral venue, and to be honest, your hips look FANTASTIC and sexy in the first dress, and lumpy and bigger in the organza, sometimes closer fitting is more slimming!

lace is gorgeous and the neckliine is beautiful. The organza is boring

@AlicialovesJose: No.1 it’s pretty darn perfect if you ak me. I think it shows your hips off in a good way 😉

#1 is so gorgeous! You are not hippy.

Lace looks amazing on you, and your hips! Stick with that one, you look beautiful! The other one doesn’t even compare for me and I do think it looks less formal.

@AlicialovesJose: I think you look beautiful in both, but the first lace dress definitely shows off your amazing figure! I don’t think your hips are anything to be self conscious about. You look great and I like the first dress better for a cathedral wedding.

reading your post, YOU sound more happy about the first one than you do the second one. I like them both but I think the first one is more of a wow factor. In the end you have to go with what YOU are going to be happy with. I narrowed mine down to four, then ended up buying one that wasn’t even in the running and then canceled it the next day and found something else. That was two years ago for my wedding this May and now I wish I would’ve kept looking lol so I completely understand the dress dilemma but you look beautiful in both!!

I prefer number two, but think 1 is more grand for a cathedral. Which ever you choose, you will look beautiful!

What hips?! You look stunning!
The bodice of the second one doesn’t look right on you. I can’t place why, but it doesn’t.

Number 1 by far! It’s extraordinary!

Very tough! I like both so since you already bought the lace one, that’s the deciding factor for my vote 🙂

The second one is beautiful but the first one is really romatic anng elegant to me. The thin belt works well too. I don’t think your hips looks unflattering at all.
