Hi Bees! I’m hoping one of you has the bright idea I’m looking for 🙂 We’re doing a “donation in lieu of favor” but want something that has our guests’ name on it so they can use it to mark their seat. We’re not assigning seats, but I like the idea of them having something w/their name on it to mark where they sit. I was thinking of them having a little sign w/them that woudl say something to the effect of “we picked each other now you pick your seat”…My mind goes blank from there…

What if you make a little sign that says something like, “Where you sit is up to you – be sure to mark your seat before heading to the bar!” Or if you’re into rhyming, maybe something like, “Choose wherever you’d like to sit – just mark your spot so no one takes it!” And then maybe the name cards can have the guests’ names in big, bold letters, so they can find them easily, and on each card following the guest’s name you can write in slightly smaller font, “a donation has been made in your honor to [name of charity].” A cute touch might be to put a little image on each card that goes along with whatever the charity is – an animal for a wildlife charity, joined hands for a humanitarian cause, etc.
I’d suggest that you consider assigning tables, especially if you are having a largish wedding – but I’m going to assume that you already have considered that and still prefer to leave the seating open. 🙂

I saw something like these on random blogs/picture recaps and thought the wording and ideas that are used is soo cute for a no seating chart reception sign idea. Maybe you can play around and with the wording to make it word for you?

____ and ___ picked each other
Mark your seat so it’s not stolen(or picked, or selected) by another.
