Jw1724:  aww what a shame about the weather. I would contact the venue and ask them for vendors that have previously decorated there so they know the place and are likely to be able to pull off sth nice quickly. Good luck.

Jw1724:

1.You could achieve the draped look with an easy DIY. Get some inexpensive drapes and secure them to the top of the fireplace wall with 3M Command strips. Be sure to follow instructions and apply the strips to the wall for one hour before you attach the drapes.

You can buy branches prelit with mini lights. Arrange them in a large vase or planter.

2. You can buy rolls  of reed garden fencing at Home Depot Lowes etc . Apply it to cover the whole wall the same way as in #1.

Add decor of your choice- a wreath, a moss monogram- you can buy the letters at Michaels and cover with moss fabric

3. Get sheets of foamcore (because they are lightweight, but sturdy enough). Glue on pomanders that you can buy ready made. Cover the whole wall.

I’d be concerned about the light from the window behind you effecting your photos. Look into DYIing a pipe and drape system for a cover up in front of the fireplace. or stand up some old doors in front of it.

Prop some old doors on the hearth.

Just saw this. You could duplicate this look with the reed garden fencing and add some silk floral garland.

I think standing in front of it as it’s to be decorated for the reception would be pretty… with some trees, flowers like in the pic you could keep the rustic feel going…
