Tell me about your DJ...I need one and have no idea where to start!

Steenie, we were very happy with our DJ, Paul DeFord from Musictainment.  He listened to what we wanted played, he had great energy during the dancing, and the songs he picked really got people out on the dance floor!

My DJ is Jay Kacik from Standing Room Only. I'm excited to work with him. At this point I've only met with him once, so I can't speak about his performance. He gave me a really good feeling. He was recommended by some of my other vendors, who said that they feel relieved when they arrive at a wedding and see him setting up.

I've used Jammin' DJs twice before and been very happy with them.  We have booked them again for our wedding!

You should choose a DJ that matches your style, your vision for your wedding day and, of course, your musical tastes. That said, compatibility is just as important. Nothing beats a face-to-face consultation to determine if you and your DJ “click”.  If yours is a destination wedding, see if your DJ will do a Skype chat.

DJ agencies (multi-op) have a variety of DJ’s to choose from, some experienced and others just getting into the business. Just be sure the DJ you are talking to is the DJ who will be at your wedding.

With an independent DJ (single-op) you are speaking with the same person who will do your wedding. Single-ops can be more accommodating and provide better individual service but nothing is etched in stone here. We always recommend the book “The Best Wedding Reception Ever” by Peter Merry. It will not only help you choose a DJ but every other vendor as well and it shows many creative ways to make your day fun and uniquely your own
