I need feedback as to whether I’m being too critical or not! I had a hair & makeup trial for my engagement photos and feel like my hair looked frizzy and my makeup was too much. I am just not really pleased with how my photos turned out. Am I just being too critical? If not, how should I have it changed?
Here is a photo I snapped of myself immediately after my hair & makeup was finished:
And here is how it looked in my engagement photos:

Love the hair, maybe a little less on the bottom of your eyes?

I love your makeup, and I do like your hair for your engagement photos, but not for your wedding. I think you should do something more with it for the big day.

I think your hair look lovely! Very soft and romantic! I do agree that maybe your lower last makeup was a tad dark? It still looks great though!

@blushpinkbride: I think you could use a better foundation match. You face and neck in no way match in your non-e photo.

@LilRhodyGem: Yeah, I can’t tell if the foundation is too dark or she used too much bronzer.

Yeah, I agree about the foundation. It looks a little dark/orange compared to your body. I would go a shade lighter. The rest looks great though!

Your hair looks frizzy in the 2nd engagement photo. Otherwise the others appear ok.

I think you look really nice!
For makeup: I’d go with a slightly lighter foundation – it looks likeit’s a little darker than the rest of your skin. And maybe a bit lighter eye makeup. Did you use false lashes? They seem a bit much for my taste, but I’m pretty simplistic when it comes to makeup!
For hair: I think your hair looks great, but I can see what you mean about it being a bit frizzy. Maybe the stylist was trying to give you some volume? I think you either have to go with smoother and less volume or a bit frizzier and more volume.

@blushpinkbride: I think you look beautiful and you guys make a lovely couple!

I think your makeup looks great in the pro pix.

I dont love the makeup in the other pic but I do in your e-pics! At first I thought it was a lot of eyeliner but it photographed well. Your hair looked good in the regular pic but a bit frizzy/big in the e-pics.

In the picture you took, the foundation looks very off. In the pro pictures, everything looks perfect. I’d say your hair is way too casual for your wedding but that is entirely up to you and your preferences.

I think the makeup looks great! I could use a little brighter lip color but besides that: looks beautiful! Thing to remember is youll probably always feel like pro makeup is heavy. I work in film/tv and its just amazing how much make up goes into making a natural look on camera.

She definitely went with too dark a foundation and way too much bronzer. It looks ok in the pro pics (probably because the photographer balanced the color afterwards) so definitely change that. The eye makeup photographs really well, though, and I don’t think it looks like it’s too much in the first pic either.
Your hair seems like it didn’t hold up well once you were outside, because it looks cute (if a bit beauty queen) in the first pic. I agree that it looks frizzy with too much artificial volume, plus your side bangs started to go all over the place. I think the hair makes you look older than you are, and I would definitely go for a more sleek look on your wedding day.
