Can you give me some feedback on this dress please. I went looking at dresses alone today so I’m keen to hear your opinions. If it helps I’m am encore bride and 41 years old. It’s an Australian label Roz La Kelin Glamour Plus Line, the dress is Collette. I would remove the train and take the skirt in on the hips to give a more streamlined silhouette.
Thank you 🙂

I think it’s a lovely dress.. the sleeves look a little out of place on it to me, though.

I think the dress looks fantastic on you and shows off yiur curves beautifully! I’m not loving the sleeves because they seems a bit too flowy and an odd length. I think if some of the sleeve was cut off and maybe more fitted to your arm it would be perfect!

@Akeru: Very pretty dress and really suits your figure! I agree with a PP though that the sleeves look out of place with it and don’t seem to ‘go’.

@Akeru: I like it a lot! And unlike the others, I’m kinda digging the sleeves 🙂

I’m going to be completely honest – I’m not a fan, sorry!
I think you could find a dress with similar details that doesn’t need a lot of alterations. You have a nice balanced shape and would suit a more simple fitted mermaid/trumpet.
Have you tried many other styles?

I love it! It suits you so well. I like the sleeves, but they might look better shortened slightly

@emerald_halo: I appreciate your opinion! It’s hard dress shoppong without anyone there. I basically tried all their available styles today. The mermaid fit didn’t work very well. This type of silhouette worked the best. I don’t have much of a waist and found that the ruching through the middle elongated my torso better that anything with a true waist. Empire waistlines made me look square also.
To all the other lovely ladies offering their thoughts on the sleeves I see what you mean – there is a lot of fabric there. When I go back to the shop I might ask if they could be made less voluminous! Or look at other options.
Thanks you so much for bring honest everyone!

I love the sleeves! However I am not a fan of the line between where the bodice/fitted part ends and the pouff begins, how it’s on an angle. I think it would look better if that was straight, or if you had more of an a-line style. I think the sleeves would suit a more delicate flowy fabric on a dress as well as opposed to the form fitting satin that one is.

@Akeru: Keep this as an option but maybe keep looking to see if you find something you like better? It does flatter your figure but I’m not crazy about the sleeves. However, if this is a sample dress, perhaps it’s more an issue of alterations.
Bottom line – do you love it? If yes, get it. If not or you’re unsure, keep looking for a bit. You can always go back to it.
