I need some help. My heart was set on a Oleg Cassini dress for the past 10 months. However, it’s been full price and hasn’t come down in price, I’ve waited and waited, nothing. I’m getting married next October 2014, so there’s still time.
This morning I went to a sample sale and found a beautiful dress that looked so nice on, it’s a Justin Alexander that was $2000.00 that I got for $500.00 :O and is in perfect condition, it looks like it was barely tried on. How amazing! I felt a little conflicted because I love the Oleg Cassini dress so much and for so long now. But I tried this one on 3 times and thought it was truly beautiful and an amazing deal.
I got home and compared the two pictures side by side and felt more confident in my decision, as I think the Justin Alexander suits my frame even better. But then my sister told me she likes the Oleg better and my mom sent me an email saying that the Oleg was just PERFEECT on me, this is all making me feel so confused over my decision.
So, I thought I would ask complete strangers for their opinion who don’t know me and aren’t family. Which do you prefer. The Oleg is the one strap dress and the ruffle dress is the Justin Alexander.

I love the Justin! It’s so gorgeous and beautiful on you!
The only problem I see with it is that it seems the neckline comes up super high on you, like its swalling you whole.

Personally i like the justin alexander better. I am yet to see a bride i like that particular oleg on… Its just not flattering… The justin is feminine, soft, and a little bit unexpected. Its very unique and different, whereas the oleg has been done a million times.
ultimately its your decision though

@Artseas: 😀 both are so beautiful on you! But I think the ruffle one, the Justin one, is better! The beading on the waist makes your waist look smaller. I really love the Justin one more! If it were me I would choose the Justin in a heartbeat, my personal opinion! of course it’s all up to you only!

I think the Justin Alexander is gorgeous! I agree with the other posing though it needs alterations in the neckline so it doesn’t swallow your neck maybe even altered to a scoop neckline or sweetheart. Other than that which is an easy fix in alterations I think the Justin Alexander looks nicer and more expensive.

I’m really not s fan of the Justin, it’s just too busy and this is coming from someone who likes over the top dresses..do you think years down the line you’d still like the justin?

I love the Justin Alexander on you! I agree with PP’s that it needs alterations, and the neckline needs to be changed. Personally, I think if you took the neckline on the Oleg Cassini and put it on the Justin Alexander, the dress would look perfect on you.

Not a fan of the Justin at all. The ruffle (?) at the top is really unflattering, the wide beading area is not flattering, and the bust pleats aren’t flattering. I much prefer the Oleg Cassini on you.

The ruffles one is amazing on you!

Thanks for all of the opinions and comments on the neckline, I hadn’t even thought of that. I don’t usually like strapless on me so I actually like that the neckline was a bit higher. It may look worse than it is in the picture because I whited out my face and some of my neck, hehe Whoops! But I’ll try bringing it down to see what it looks like.
I think the construction and quality of the Just Alexander is FAR higher than the Oleg Cassini. I originally didn’t want ruffles at all! I thought, oh they’ll be SO dated in years to come but I’ve come to realize that no matter what I wear, it WILL look dated in years from now and it won’t matter because I won’t be wearing it then, I’m wearing it now.

OMG Artseas! You picked both my dresses! lol
I’m so biased because I wore the Justin dress. I have to tell you though, I had the biggest dress regret for 6 months, but when my dress came and I tried it on, I cried. I didnt think I would! It’s all about the fit! The place I bought my dress knew what they were doing when they measured me. All she said was, please trust me, I’ve been doing this for a long time! Needless to say, I didnt need to alter my dress. I have to thank them for knowing what they’re doing and grateful they didnt listen to me.
That being said, once you alter the justin’ dress, it will look amazing on you! I say go with your gut and go with the dress who’s whisper is the loudest!

Christine, that’s so crazy! 🙂
You look beautiful! It is a gorgeous dress. Can’t I just have both?,lol I’m feeling much better about my decision. I guess the reality is, there is an endless amount of beautiful gowns and they’re both equally gorgeous. I feel like there’s more of a “wow” factor with the Justin Alexander. It is a more dramatic dress. The Oleg is very regal looking.

@vorpalette: +1 All of this. The pleats on the bust are really awkward, the neckline goes up way too high, and the beaded waistline is very wide (and therefore widening). The ruffles on the skirt are too much to balance out the very busy top.
The Oleg is really pretty on you.

Agree with these two ladies. While the Justin fits you really well, it’s got way too much going on and it kind of makes my eyes hurt. It looks like three different dresses thrown together.
I’m sure the Oleg will come down in price at some point/
