I recently went through my aunt’s chest of family heirlooms looking for my grandma’s wedding dress. We thought it might be cool to display it at my wedding next to our display of other old family wedding photos. I am wondering how to display it- at first I thought it would be neat to have an old dress form to hang it on, but they are expensive! So my current idea is to use an old coat rack and just hang it on a hanger. Any of you lovely ladies have any thoughts/ideas about how I should display the dress?

Check out ebay, Kijiji, craigslist, etc to see if you can find a used bustform. I like the idea and in the right setting it would look really neat! The dress just on a hanger might look a little lackluster IMO.
You could also create a memory wall of other relatives on their wedding day and display the dress alongside those. Kind of like these:

Is there any place where you live where you could rent a mannequin?
I would place an ad on craigslist if you can’t find a local business.

Check with local colleges/schools that might have a costume shop for their theatre department– you might be able to borrow one from them.
