Okay bees, I’m turning to you for help.
The couple are young, 21/22. They don’t have a registry. They already live together, are coming up for 4 years together and have 2 kids and 3 dogs.
I am so stuck on what to get them. They are both unemployed, and I can’t think of any hobbies I could buy gifts for. She likes bright, colourful things, loves lime green.
They are not really a cooking couple, so any cooking stuff I’m looking at I don’t know. They don’t really go out to eat. I don’t think there’d be any point buying them something delicate like china/crystal, cause their kids find and destroy everything.
I don’t want to buy anything too traditional because they are not that kind of couple, but I have no idea. They like to go walking in parks with their kids/animals, but I can’t think of anything else.

@Mrs.SleepyKitty: My go to gift for weddings for my friends (all in the 22-26 range) is a pretty card with cash or a check. I know some people are uncomfortable with it, but if your friends don’t have a registry, they’re probably trying to tell everyone (without being completely rude and outright saying it) that money is what they really want.

A gift card or cash is always useful.

I agree that if they dont have a registry, they are probably implying they want cash/check, especially if they are unemployed. I personally hate giving cash. I find it extremely impersonal. However, they are kind of laying it out there and if thats their desire, so be it.

@MASPA: Ditto to this.
If they have been together for that long, have two kids and keep house – they are hoping for a gift card or cash.

Considering they’re both unemployed, a check might be exactly the thing they need.

Money! Unless you are against it.

Seems like they want cash! Please don’t give them gifts that they haven’t asked for. And if you do give them a gift, include a gift receipt.

I would give them cash if they don’t have a registry.

Cash or a gift card to target or Macys.
