We are moving soon and would like to buy some new stuff for our dining room. We already have a dark wood table (similiar to the one pictured below) and I love the look of mirrored furniture and metal…just not sure if they go together or if there would be too much going on in the room.
Which buffet would look better with the chairs that I have picked out or should I go with completely different chairs? Any tips would be great!

Your table is definitely very traditional, so the mirrored look would be too much of a juxtaposition since that’s very art deco/contemporary. I think the second buffet would look much better.
For the chairs, I would go with something with a higher back if you want a more updated look.
Something like this, the Miles side chair from Crate & Barrel:
The Ikea Ingolf chair (much more economical):
Or just a simple Parsons chair:
I would personally stick to something more in design. I think a Parsons chair would work beautifully with your table and look really elegant.

You can totally make the mirrored furniture work. It takes a little more design savvy to mix finishes like that, but if you do it right, it will look great! The overall look would depend on the rest of the room, though. What color do you plan on painting the walls? I can imagine a nice rich purple pulling the look together. Also, I would make the chairs the same finish/material as the table or the sideboard the same (probably the chairs the same).

You can def mix! But in different ways. When in doubt I always turn to Candice Olson, and you sound like you have a similar style as she/I 🙂 I love mirrored furniture & so does she, or def at least including lovely mirroed accents.
The buffet may be a little overwhelming w/ the dark table, but it can go both ways, because the dark buffet would be too dark and not enough variation.
To get the best of both worlds, you could add mirrored accents, take a look at the pic below with giant beautiful mirros on top of the buffet.
Also i would agree w/ bakerella and go with a more modern cloth chair.
Here are my two favorite candice dining rooms!

Thanks for all the responses so far!
@minutiae: I wish we could paint something fun but its a rental. Not positive about the color because we haven’t seen it yet (moving soon back to the States and have only seen pics online)
@AnnieAAA: love both of those pics! I love how mirrors open everything up. Thanks for the input.
@bakerella: thanks for the chair options, now that you point it out the back of the chair should probably be higher than my choice. I would never have noticed that until I ordered the chairs and put them at the table.
I should have probably put a better idea of what our table looks like. I only attached the first pic as a source for the color. This pic is closer to the design of the table…if that helps.

I think it depends on your general style and how you’ll be using the DR. The mirrored piece you’ve pictured would give it a more formal look (and I do love the one you’ve shown), while the chunky table and other piece may look more casual together. The metal chairs really wouldn’t don’t go with any of the other pieces.
Storage is always needed in a DR and I prefer a more eclectic look myself, so would choose the mirrored buffet over the wood one. I’d also pick some comfy chairs, again depending on how you’ll be using the room.

Our taste is pretty eclectic…from classic to a little contemporary (though not super contemporary). And we definitely need storage in the dining room after all the stuff we got for wedding gifts. I’m also including a pic of our current apartment…the new one will have a more seperate dining/living area…
As for use, we eat 99% of our meals at the dining table and love having dinner parties…hence the need for new/more chairs.
Are metal chairs completely not an option or just the ones I posted? What about these below? I would love parson chairs but can’t find decently priced ones.
