Are you going to be wearing a bigger necklace and/or have your hair down? That might help you feel more comfortable (based on what I did when I had a bridesmaid dress that was strapless).

I have a similar issue with my dress.  It has a short bodice, while I have a long torso, so when the dress is fitted at my natural waist the top of the sweetheart is 1-2 inches below my armpits.  It doesn’t help that I have had three fittings and never actually tried on the dress fitted properly because I have lost weight between fittings.  I’m having the seamstress take it in another inch plus at the waist so it will be super snug even if I drop another pound or two due to last minute stress.  I think that will help me feel more secure in the dress.  Would you feel better if the dress were tighter?

Even though I feel exposed, my mom and friend who came to my third fitting assured me that I don’t look exposed.  You don’t, either.  Also, even if it is too big on the wedding day, the boning in the dress will keep it up (no risk of wardrobe malfunction!). I’m more worried about having to hike it up to keep the hem off the floor….

@RexManningDay:  That is a great idea about adding a necklace!

The dress I tried on in store had a low V back and I didn’t like it. It was fine for comfort, but good god I looked like a linebacker in pictures – it just hit at the wrong spot. I’m getting my dress made and will be changing that as a customization.

I felt like my dress was a bit low, but it’s the way it is made. I had to wear it with spagetti straps because if i raised my arms there would be a wedding dress malfunction… with the straps everything stayed where it was supposed to! But my dress was also sweetheart…I also wore a lace top over it for the ceremony and that made it look less low..

I felt that way at my first fitting:

So I had a thick but sheer 1-shoulder to it and it completley changed the look.  I think a big necklace would have a similar effect if you don’t want to do straps!
