We were both established when we got married as well. We really had no idea what to put on, so we just added a little bit of everything: Knife set, picture frames, board games (scrabble & clue :), fun kitchen utensils (target has a cute brand called animal house I think it is:), wireless mouse for our computer, gift cards, tools (nice hammer & level), trash can (you know, one of those fancy schmancy ones that are stainless steel & open by foot. Yeah, the expensive ones. We didn’t get it lol), comforter for our bed, sheet set, etc.
We kinda just went on a whim & added things that we either already had, but wanted nicer ones, or stuff that we didn’t have & thought would be cool to have (see automatic trash can, cordless mouse & board games :).

I think you could always upgrade or add to your collection of bedding and towels. What about a nice mattress cover? duvet? pillows? flower vases? serve ware?

How about new sheets/bedding and towels? You can never have too many and it will help make it feel like you do have something “new” together in your new stage of life. Switching out the bedding always makes it seem like I’ve just redecorated the whole room. And people will like to buy that kind of stuff.

thank you everyone!!!!
@okqueenbee…we already have one of those nice trash cans. lol! he just had to have one! they are nice and we ended up finding one that wasn’t too badly priced!
i was also throwing around another idea as well. im just not sure if he would be on board with it. im a huge animal lover and had thought about setting up the option for guests to make a donation to the local animal shelter if they didn’t want to purchase something from the registry.
what do you think?

We are kind of in the same boat in that we have nice cookware and a great set of knives. We decided to register for more “nice to have” things, like better measuring cups and a better hand-mixer, sassy wine glasses etc.. If we get a better version of something we already have, I plan to give a few things to his brother, who is in college, and my sister, who is getting her own place soon.
We’re just taking the opportunity to bring our kitchen up to date.
You could also skip the registry altogether if you’re happy with what you already have, and then the gifts will be a complete surprise!!

hm you could ask people to just donate to a honeymoon fund. Or is their anything you would like new or redecorated. How about some nice sheets or new bedspread?

We have a lot of stuff already too, but we’re planning on upgrading a lot of stuff, like dishes, sheets, etc. We’re planning on just putting stuff on there that we want but would never buy for ourselves!

we’ve lived together for years, but we still found lots of things to upgrade–dishes, sheets, tablecloths, throw pillows (the dog chewed on the ones my fi bought before we were together that i didn’t like ), cookware, etc. and then things we wouldn’t buy for ourselves that we would want–like a better, bigger food processor and an immersion blender, and really nice serving pieces that match our new dishes.
