I saw this dress on a show that I love and I fell in love with the dress! I can’t find one like it (esp in my price range) for my girls. It has to either be black (preferably) or the teal color like she has. Problem is that the absolute MAX I want my girls to spend is $50. I am willing to put in $25 for each girl though. So, help me find a dress look alike (length and halter style) around $75 or less! I am so stuck!

Hmmm.. that is a tall order.
Have you talked to your girls to make sure that $50 is all they are willing to spend? If it were me, I would much rather spend a little extra and get a dress I love than to skimp on it and have it be ill fitting or unflattering.
I can say that with a dress like this, even if you find it for $50, it will likely either be poor quality, or on sale. It looks like silk or taffeta, and almost all the options near your price range are jersey or cotton, and won’t have the same look- they will appear much less formal.
One option I think you might want to consider- having a dress custom made for your girls. If you went through the website Style Shake you could get black silk dresses made to measure for $134, and black polyester dresses would be $98. Your girls (or you) could customize everything- neckline, where the waist hits, how the skirt looks… and then everything is made based on their measurements to fit them when it comes in. It really is a great option, and possibly worth the extra money just b/c they won’t need to have as many alterations.
Here is a style I put together really fast to give you an idea:
This style has (going through the style options) 1.empire upper body 2. strapless bandeau neckline 3. no sleeves 4. waist panel 5. A-line skirt 6. halter neck trimmings
If I were one of your girls, I would be willing to spend $25 more to have a dress that fit like a glove and also met your expectations!

@tinylittlebird: My girls are either in college and lucky to afford food and rent or (in the case of my MOH sisters) still in high school so yeah, $50 is more than enough to make them spend. So while I understand your point and realize that for most women whos bridal party consists of women with jobs and money to blow on a $100 dress the idea of a price needing to be that low seems a little stange. Unfortunately we are not those women. Heck, my wedding dress was $98! (Granted it was a sample sale and like 90% off it is soooo worth it!) And the idea of making my girls buy dresses that cost more than mine kinda makes me uneasy. With that said, I do like that website and might keep it in mind. Really, thanks for your help!

@kfricke89: I forgot to tell you, you should sign up for the emails for Style Shake. They do discounts all the time. I got one this morning, and they’re doing 50% off all orders of $100 or more.
Even if you went with the cheaper fabric options, you could order all your girls together and have over $100, and get all their dresses for 50% off.
Just a suggestion. I know that you’re not looking to order right now, but they do discounts like that all the time.

I don’t know if this is uncouth or breaking some wedding ettiquette rule – but I would say give those orders to your bridesmaids and let them find their dresses. They have a better chance of finding something in store and on sale that fits them.
With a budget that tight, you are probably going to have to find something on sale and finding multiple sizes in a sale dress is crazy hard. Also, with sale items, you have to buy them immediately and wait for them to pay you back, otherwise the sizes might be gone.
I speak from experience (can you tell??)… I went through 6 months of hell trying to find cheap matching dresses for a size 2, 4, 6 and 16. I even went through two experiences with two different dressmakers, trying to have them cutom made and that was a nightmare as well.
Also, if they can pick the dress themselves, they are more likely to spend more on it cause they will fall in love with something AND are more likely to find something they will wear again.
Unless you have a strong dislike of the non-identical BM dresses, I promise you that is your best bet. I know its not perfect, but it will save you so much time and stress (and money, hopefully.)

beautiful dress but unsure where to find a cheap version.
@stooks247: I would absolutely hate having to do that as a BM. It’s the bride’s wedding, they should do the research, I’m not interested as a BM!

@stooks247 & @Pia2010:
I feel like the complication here is the specificity. I know that tons of brides give their BMs the rules of “Go find a black dress that is [whatever length]” and that is the end of it.
In general, I do think that tends to work out ok because most girls can find a little black dress pretty easy on their own.
However, when you start saying “I want you all in a dress that looks just like this”…. well, then yes, it wouldn’t be easy.
Lots of brides to the LBD route, though- they’re everywhere, and a total staple piece for lots of girls, so there is a chance they might have one already.
