Both Alfred Sung and Alfred Angelo make maternity dresses. Something to keep in mind.

Also, my bridesmaid is going to be 5 months at my wedding and she just bought a regular, short dress with a higher waist and ordered the dress with extra length.

ETA: This is pretty, you could probably shorten it http://www.weddingtonway.com/products/alfred-sung-m406-maternity-bridesmaid-dress?sku=su-m406-cappuccino

ETA: This is super cute, just maybe a little (okay a lot) expensive. http://www.tiffanyrose.com/maternity/clothing/ALESPDO/Alessandra-Maternity-Dress-Polka-Dot-(Oyster).html

I’d suggest getting an empire waisted long dress – I was just in a wedding at 23 weeks, and I ordered it 3 sizes too big, as I wasn’t sure how big id be. I was maybe 1 size bigger than my normal size after alterations. I def thought I would be bigger!

Also, unless you’re tall, I’d skip getting extra length. My BFF who was 30 weeks at the same wedding ordered extra length (she’s 5’9) and it was a waste… At least in our Amsale dresses.

Are you able to get your dress altered? I have an XS bridesmaid dress for a wedding I’m in this Sept as well, except I’ll be 30+ weeks in lol. The dress is discontinued and the option to order something else doesn’t exist. I took it to a good seamstress and she’s putting in a corset back and just adding material underneath to make it longer (and cover the bump and not show the vag lol) and it’s only costing me $30. Something to look into 🙂 I am currently 21 weeks and although I do have a pretty decent sized bump, minor alterations to most of my current dresses would easily accomodate it.

Good luck!

By 21 weeks you won’t be showing that much. Did u google 21 week bumps? You can probably get a regular dress that has an umpire waist or is loose and stretchy. I wore a dress like that to a wedding at 17 weeks and it worked. I am almost 19 weeks and can wear a lot of my existing strechy dresses, which I do, although I have a definite small bump happening.

I wore a Bill Levkoff sweetheart, strapless(thought there was a detachable halter strap), empire waist gown at 6 months.  I did not have to alter it because the empire waist was very forgiving.  It was floor length and there was plenty of fabric to cover my belly.  I measured into a size 6 two weeks before we found out we were PG and ended up taking another BM’s size 12.

On a side note I think its worth it to check out ASOS.  They are my favorite maternity wear purveyor.   I am wearing one of their dresses right now! 🙂  Plus they have free shipping and returns so get a bunch to try on.  So comfy to be in maternity wear made for my belly!
