Hello ladies out there! I could really use some help. I got engaged a few months ago and due to some personal and family issues I didnt get to start planning until now. Anyway, money is extremely tight but my FI and I want to get married next year on the day he proposed to me (april 14). I really got inspired when I read the article on this website about how the bride did her wedding and reception for under $2500. So I got this vision of what I want my wedding and reception to look like. Even though I do not have a lot of money I don't want my wedding to look like a low budget wedding. I shouldnt have to get stuck getting married at the pink wedding chapel in my city which is only one step up from just going to the courthouse and getting it over with. Im not lucky enought to have someone who has a nice house with a nice backyard. So I really need help from those low budget brides out there. I found two places I can do my wedding one in my city (palmdale) a very nice park and the other one is a rose garden (LA). Neither place does receptions. I can do a DIY I just dont have a nice place to do it. I dont want it to be too far from the wedding sites. So if anyone just happens to live out in the LA county and they have any ideas on where I can do my reception and/or wedding on a super tight budget?!

@chowmeingrl: I live in OC, and I will tell you, I couldn't find a place in the OC/LA area for under 5000.  I'm getting married at Lakewood Country Club for around 6000.  But I will tell you, if you are willing to travel to Riverside County or Ventura, out of the LA area, you can get places a lot cheaper.

I hope this helps!  Sorry that I don't have better news!

That's a tough one  Where was that $2500 wedding, I'd be really interested in seeing that article since I'm looking to save money any way I can.  Usually local parks or having it at someone's house would be your best bet.  Possibly a restaurant if you're having a small guest list.  I'm out in Riverside County and nice places were just as expensive here as Orange County and LA.

good luck... I looked all over for nice venues that were super budget friendly and when that didnt happen I threw it all out the window and went big... I figured its my one and only day... its tought in the LA/OC area...
