I can't help you but I am definately gushing over this dress.
I know Marchesa makes beautiful dresses. I've seen some adorable minis on their website and have been considering looking into them as well for a cocktail dress. I believe they are a little pricy, but nothing close to $5000!

You might want to try looking at white "prom" dresses. I think you might be able to find something more your style! That dress is absolutely gorgeous by the way. 
I like this dress a lot! But it might not be your style.

@prettylittlebride: I think I tried that top on with a different skirt when I was gown shopping -- ML did a few covert 2-piece dresses in her spring 2011 line. Maybe you could buy the top and then find a less expensive skirt? Or vice-versa?

I am in love with the Monique Lhuillier 'Jules' short dress from the Spring 2011 line. I want something very similar to it for my reception... kind of like the one Carrie Underwood wore for her reception. Has anyone seen a cheaper version of this dress... or one like it? I don't want to spend over $5,000 on a reception dress. I already spent that much on my wedding ceremony dress. Please help!
Here's the Jules dress. I probably can't get anything this detailed at a cheap price but I'm sure I could find something similar.
