At Kay's we were told the same thing- plain gold bands never go on sale. I've heard this from other jewelers, so it seems to be the truth. But with your bands, you might want to think of the things you "get with them." We were going to get our bands on Amazon (pretty cheap overall, compared to many jewelery stores), but ended up getting our bands at Kay's because they not only offer a lifetime warrenty, but resizing and cleaning for life as well. Their policy is that if the rings every get damaged they will be fixed for free. My 2mm white gold band was ~$60, but my FI's 6mm yellow gold band was ~$260 with comfort fit (totally worth it, as the band really is more comfortable with comfort fit!). And while the bands never go on sale, because we bought my engagement ring with them and they were running a special, we got $100 off our rings. A pretty good deal, I think.

FI wants a plain white-gold 5mm or 6mm band. And, I know pretty much EVERYONE sells them. Does anyone know who has really good prices on gold bands? I was thinking maybe a department store?
Are there ever sales on gold? Someone at JB Robinson told me they dont put sales on their gold, the price always depends on the market.
