I have looked in the Philly area, and some in NJ. I can't help right now, but PM me to remind me, and I will look for what you need!!! :) Rhonda
@dreamwithpassion: Not sure how northeast you need, but there are some fabulous places in the Lehigh Valley. One called The Meadows that has an amazing outdoor tent area and you could also get married there. They're in Hellertown and were fabulous for my wedding. PM if you want more info!
Thanks ladies! I am really looking for the poconos region, would prefer to be above the leigh valley, but would consider it for a good venue. I'll look into that. Keep the suggestions coming!
I don't know too much about the Pocono's, but have you tried Mt Airy to see if they have any areas that would work?
Or how about Lake Wallenpaupak? We are having ours at Lake Winola and we were able to rent the cottager's association pavillion for less than 1000.00 for the weekend. Even if they don't have something like that, maybe a house with a big deck over the lake for the weekend wouldn't be too much.
i live in stroudsburg /mt pocono (live half here and half there) and the 2 places im really considering are woodloch (in hawley) and riverview (wind gap area)...i have found them to be the cheapest and have outdoor and indoor options. and my friend just got married at riverview and said it was fantastic...and the staff was great. other places i would try are pocono manor or the chateau. i also saw a wedding being set up outside mt airy by the pond so that is a possiblity but the geese are terrible! oh and sorrenti!!! the wine place in cherry valley they have a nice outdoor set up!!! and a beautiful pavillion!!! also go to www.poconoweddings.com that helped me look for nice places and the knot has a pocono page too! hope this helped!
Thanks ladies! The lake is a great idea, I'm searching for some houses and have found some good ones! @ingeborgslilly those places are all beautiful, but I do need a place I can bring in my own caterer, so most of the resorts are out (although I have been thinking of calling sorrenti, but they have food packages so they're probably a no too.) Thanks though, I love all the help! Keep it coming!
@dreamwithpassion:youll be surprised...ask anyway even if they do have menus(including resorts)! i figure theres no harm in asking :D
i am looking at the mauch chunk ballroom in jim thorpe. i was quoted 650 sun-thurs and 800 fri or sat. only includes tables chairs and dinnerware..
it holds 160 i think

Please anyone feel free to email me at Nyasia.Bowles@gmail.com or facebook me or send me a message here. I know the feeling of stressing over a reception place and ANY advice I could offer I am MORE THAN WILLING TO HELP. In addition, the reception place is SUPER AFFORDABLE. You get WAY more than you pay for. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE feel free to email me.

I have a lot of requirements for a reception site, and am trying to find more options to fit... needs to be within northeastern PA, have an outside area that includes a backup pavillion or a big enough spot for a large tent in case of rain (wedding in May) and the biggest problem... I need to be allowed to bring in my own catering. Also, I am on a tight budget. Can anyone help, I would appreciate any ideas! Thanks.
